Re: Transfer Portal Watch
Does absence of news mean Gregory is returning? That would solve a big question mark. Obviously Delph returning would be amazing as well.

Re: Transfer Portal Watch
Any athlete who requests to transfer after May 1 — unless they compete in a spring sport — will have to work with the NCAA in order to become eligible to compete in the 2022-23 season.

Re: Transfer Portal Watch
Kerwin Walton, a 6-5 SF at UNC-CH (a 3-star player from Minnesota) entered the portal about 45 minutes ago (as of 11:35 AM). Midnight tonight is the basketball deadline. Expect a bit of a last minute surge in entries this afternoon and tonight.
Interestingly, I read on CBS.com that kids can remove their names from the portal. I also read that last Wednesday (4.27.22) was the deadline for players to pull their names from the NBA draft. I wonder if AD is still in or out?

Re: Transfer Portal Watch
Doesn't apply to grad transfers if they haven't transferred before. As long as they have time left and have completed a bachelor's degree then they can play immediately if they enroll in a grad program. No one time waiver needed. Even those who have transferred before will usually get a waiver.

Arkansas St lands a transfer from FSU. A center from France, likely their attempt to replace Norchad Omier
They have also added a JuCo All American. Manciel averaged 15 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists 41% 3P

Re: Transfer Portal Watch
I'm gonna take a guess that this means Delph and/or Duhart are coming back.

I’m also wondering if maybe the 6’10” Nigerian guy who plays for covenant day in Matthews might be a possibility. He decommitted from Boston U a couple weeks ago and was on our radar.

Re: Transfer Portal Watch
per ESPN's Jeff Goodman...
Appalachian State has landed D-2 grad transfer Tyree Boykin from Union (Tenn.).
Boykin is a 6-foot-1 guard who averaged 20 points per game last season and has scored more than 1,700 points in his career.
Happy to have Tyree join the squad, but I hope this isn't the big splash that was teased late yesterday.

Yeah - Interesting. I do think he will be a nice pickup, but was wondering the same thing.

Re: Transfer Portal Watch
Same guy Boykin you posted. I enjoy seeing that even though we are not a power house, we are still a desirable enough location to land transfers in this new portal world we live in.

Mike Almonacy version 2.0?
Maybe Tyree will give us more consistent scoring.
