I doubt he's even offered the position but it would not be a good career move for Lamb with his lack of experience to try and take on OC duties at a top G5 program. He's in the perfect position with Tony Elliott being new to UVA as well. Together they will be able to set things up their way. He's also getting Brennan Armstrong back at QB which is a plus to help you get situated in your first year.

I know of someone who is available. Just left his long-time gig. Seems to have a good offensive grasp and would be a good mentor for QBs. Of course Tom Brady may want to lounge around with the family for a while before he commits to something new.

But seriously...I wish Coach Ponce all the best in his new job. Was looking forward to seeing what he could accomplish with a year under his belt at ASU. Hope we can find someone to fill his shoes who will keep us winning and playing the exciting brand of football folks around here have come to expect.

We could go “old school” like some experienced NFL QBs of the 70s. You just let QB1 (Chase) call the plays for the first two downs. Coach Clark and Ware then use the analytics book they have and send in a down and distance play for 3rd down to keep moving the sticks. Just kidding. I trust DG and SC will find the best OC we can afford. Our 5th OC in 5 years…. Thank God, we have players that led this program forward.

This is not the end of the world. We had turnover on the field and this does not mean we can't win. Anyone telling us the narrative that coaching change means we should expect to struggle does not know football. As long as we get a good coach we can still see improvement from Brice and our offense.

We can't afford Bentley. Our best bet is to get someone from a FCS program who is a young, innovative riser. I wonder who Clark has in mind. I'm sure he has a few names in his pocket.

Whoever the OC will be they better be on board with Burger being the guy down the line or else he is another miss. We can't keep signing a QB and then seeing them leave when their coach leaves to force us to hit the portal. HS kids won't come here if they keep seeing a new coach just throw someone to the side or that we just aren't hitting at QB.

I would have to believe changing the OC/QB coach every year is certainly one of the reasons why we did not see BamBam (ZT) return for his COVID year as well as DBG, NS and AG leave as they were not content with their role on the team. Position Coach Change=Attrition.

No inside knowledge but looking at the resume of the last hire, Lawrence Dawsey ," impressive" is an understatement.He was Co-OC at FSU for five years after one heck of an NFL career. Including rookie of the year .His recruiting accolades are through the roof.

Watts provided a lot of input to the play calls in the second half of the season with Petersen at the helm. Watts would not be a bad choice. Plus, he wants to be here. He's had plenty of offers to leave but decides to stay every time.

That said, I hope we do a full search to find the next. I also hope we don't handcuff whoever is hired to run our specific offense. Let him put his wrinkles in to it.
