Re: Xavion Brown
Info given on the radio broadcast of the ULM game was that Xavion was running sprints and hoped to be cleared for practice soon. In addition, it was stated that Justin Forest would be with the team on the 'Bama swing of the schedule this week...to USA and Troy.

Re: Xavion Brown
What’s the latest on Brown? He was apparently running sprints several weeks ago and was in warmup gear at a game or two. Now he’s in street clothes again. Hopefully he hasn’t taken a step backward with recovery. His defense and athleticism could help this team quite a bit.

Re: Xavion Brown
I haven't heard about him in a while. I was concerned because he didn't seem to be on the last road trip. He was on the bench today cheering on the team.

Re: Xavion Brown
Per our radio network PxP guy this afternoon, after a recovery setback of some sort, Xavion's return is week-to-week now.

Re: Xavion Brown
Lots of tough games remaining to be played. If Xavion can play 4 to 6 minute stretches w/o pain and w/o causing a more serious and sustained injury--I'd say bring him back as soon as his OrthoDoc says he's ready. His active, long-wingspan defense and his 62.5% shooting accuracy inside the arc could well be the difference in a game or two or three in the stretch run and tourney.
On the other hand, if his short-term recovery is in doubt and if he hasn't already played too many games/minutes to qualify--I'd redshirt him in a flash. He's appeared in 6 games this season for a total of 75 minutes and 37 seconds. I haven't kept up with those rules since my vision has become so fragile. Either redshirt or medical waiver could be in play in his case.
I'm sure someone amongst our legions knows the redshirt/medical waiver rules currently applicable in a case like Xavion presents.
