I don't think anyone is saying he is a bad teammate. In fact, I think he is a good teammate. The issue is that he seems to want more carries and possibly has had some disagreements with Clark at times. From evidence of things his mother and Cam have said I think he is probably going to look into the portal or declare early but perhaps our coaches can talk him into returning. I really want Cam to return but he has to want to as well and if he goes elsewhere we should wish him luck.![]()
Nobody on here should pile on him because of what you said. I will respect his choice to go pro or transfer but I think his best bet is to come back to App for one more year. This is his choice though and nothing any of us think on here matters. I just hope our fans don't trash him if he does transfer because it is his life. We should want players here who want to be here and he should also do what he feels is best for him.

Re: Peoples
I heard stuff long ago but wanted to see if it changed. Cam will have to disagree with what his mother is saying in the stands and online to stay though. This decision is his and I hope that whatever he chooses it works out for him but his mother has made it clear she wants him to move on.mike87 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 1:20 pmI was actually referring to you. He is a class act from what I have seen and will hate to lose him. I just hope it works out for him either way.
P.S. I don't want to have to tackle him either and I'm pretty sure many current SBC players don't want to as well. LOL

For one who respects his choice, you sure will not let this die. For one who hopes people don't pile on you sure continue to stir the pot. Why not give it a rest and let things play out.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:16 pmThere had actually been some smoke that he was looking to leave as early as the Marshall game but I never said a word. Re: Peoples
I hope your right about us being “stacked” at RB. I’m not necessarily disagreeing but explain. I love Noel but he won’t last as an every down back. He is an awesome change of pace guy with I believe a ton of upside. I also love Hearington but his injury makes him a big unknown. Would love to say differently but didn’t see anybody else who looked like a starting back.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:21 pmAgree about his character. I don't think his desire to be the main guy and not share carries makes him a bad guy so I'm not sure why people are drawing that conclusion because of it.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:18 pmAll I know of Cam is what I’ve seen on the field and the sidelines. Hope he heals and stays a Mountaineer.
Alabama WR Jameson Williams left Ohio State because their WR room was crowded and he wanted to start. Some players do that and never play but some are right about their talent and make the right choice. Williams made the right choice.
One thing about our RB room is that I believe our top 5 RBs all could be 1,000 yard rushers in the Sun Belt if we gave them the ball 20 times a game. We definitely are stacked in terms of talent at RB.

Re: Peoples
Perhaps we have some losses and we could easily go from stacked to very thin quickly but at the moment the room looks good, even without Peoples. If it was not good the concern over not getting enough reps would not have been an issue at all for Peoples.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:35 pmI hope your right about us being “stacked” at RB. As far as explaining the talent. Noel is indeed a change of pace guy but has shown he can run for 1,000 yards. Harrington is a big question mark due to injury but he is an All-SBC performer. We also have seen good things from Smith when in the game and I hope he returns. Castle is a fun inside runner to watch. We are also likely to add one of the top rushers in the country out of high school who has over 3200 yards and 50+ TDs as a senior to the RB room.
If we keep Peoples then I don't see how our RB unit would not be among the top 3 at the G5 level in 2022.
If Peoples leaves and we see retirements by Harrington and Smith then yes we would be thin. I would say though that the talent of Noel, Castle, and Roberts is impressive and I'm sure with how we run the ball that a talented runner in the portal would jump at the chance to give us 4 quality RBs.

Castle and Robert’s will be much better next year, I’m guessing. Development meets opportunity.

Re: Peoples
Incredibly happy hes staying. Hoping he has an injury free full year. If he considered leaving to get more carries i just dont see him taking the punishment . Yes he runs hard and isnt afraid of contact but hes tall for a running back and most everyone goes low on him because they know it. I think thats why he seems to have so many naggin lower body type injuries. He just doesnt look like he has those huge Derrick Henry or Javonte Williams type thighs to absorb that. In pads he looks likes hes built more like a stud wr like a julio jones. We know what Cam is capable of. Castle, Smith etc not so much.

Re: Peoples
I’m not the only one shocked but let’s keep an eye and see if he sticks. Follow his mother on social media. It was pretty clear she felt they were gone and something changed their opinion this week. The fact he came out and said he was returning shows that.
Luckily he realized what was best for him is to come back. I’m glad my guess based on what mom and others were saying is wrong.

Re: Peoples
No reason to do that. Cam clearly was thinking about it since he made that statement. I can’t see mom for a while now so I’m going to be curious to hear what someone who is talking to Cam or Coach Clark says about it. Maybe Moose will have some insight.
I said before this was best for him to return and glad that cooler heads prevailed.

He put a tweet out there for some reason…so he had to quash rumors and/or reassure everyone he was black and gold for life. Glad he’s coming back and hope he is healthy and gets the ball as much as he can handle. We don’t need another “quick is still open” scenario.
I’m glad he’s coming back…and I hope he does so hungry and ready to make an effing statement!

Re: Peoples
Someone said I would hide and in this case I’m glad to see he changed his mind. No reason to hide here.
If he was never thinking of leaving then why come out with that whole long post? The rumor started because of his and his mothers words and actions. Why even create those rumors if you weren’t debating?
I wonder if he went to advisory board and did not like what NFL said or just had our coaches convince him a return was best for him?
