This team plays with a lot of grit, but they take a lot of bad shots too. I love the hustle, just have to be smarter.

Not talking about the student section here, but watching on TV Holmes has no atmosphere. You can almost hear individual people shouting. I know in the NBA they're allowed to play music during game play - are they not allowed to in college basketball?
Where have you been the last decade?

Can't complain about one of the best atmospheres in 10 years, especially when we're down 17.

Got to figure out how to get intensity on defense and offense efficiency up in the first 20 minutes. Personally believe we should have beat this team by 10+. This is going to be average team if they cannot figure out 1st half issues. With that said, really love the "don't quit" attitude of this team.

As I stated in another thread, need to have 20 minute scrimmage before actual game.😂

ESPN game cast doesn’t have an attendance up yet. First person to hear a number post it.

Is it time to move the student to the sideline across from the benches?

They are showing up!

Apparently, DK was disappointed in the attendance numbers last night. Spent about 5 minutes bemoaning the lack of turnout among non-students. I chalk it up to his being frustrated about the loss. The two biggest crowds in a decade seems a step in the right direction. Bad mouthing the alums may not be the best approach. If the team keeps competing like they have this week and winning most of those contests, folks will come. But, there is a difference between making a three hour drive for a two hour basketball game than it is to make that same drive on a weeknight for a football game given all that goes on around said game.

Tough loss. Still a lot of non-con left between now and the buzz saw of Duke and UNC back to back though.

Yeah. Basketball attendance will never be good during the week.

DK needs to accept that the vast majority of alumni do not live within a distance that allows for a weeknight drive. It sucks, but it is what it is and that is part of what makes app special to all of us.

I love the guy but alumni driving distances and mountain roads at night aren't inviting , later in the season will be worse.I think last night's attendance was respectable. The many backdoor layups by CLT , not so much.

I can say whatever I want. The criticism was valid at the time. I am not willing to make excuses but you go ahead.

Get the locals involved. Grass roots baby. Take the stairs.

Watauga County population is 56,000. We need roughly another 6,000 fans to reach a sell out.

Take the 3,200 that came last night. Add 1,000 more students you’re at 4,200. Get even 500 fans and alumni from out of the county to drive up and you’re at 4,700. Boom you’re over half full. And then all you need is 4,500 residents of Watauga county to join in. Sell out.

I’d love to know the student section numbers from last night. Guarantee it grew by 500 over the ETSU game. Keep it up and Holmes might be half full of just students. 😳

Two guys wide open who should have cut base line when we took the ill advised deep 3 that clanked off the rim. Court vision must see those guys and those guys must cut. Also the last drive, the Charlotte defender was not straight up and down he leaned over, should have been an obvious foul call....end of game clock winding down or not. Text book definition of a foul.

Tough loss, fantastic crowd

Kerns complaining about crowd is mind-boggling. I will join him and complain about our offensive scheme once again, taking contested 3's. at the end of the shot clock is not ideal imo.

Hope Forrest isn't dinged up long term, Beat Delaware!

I listened to Coach presser. I am fine with it. He is being honest. He has expectations. They may not be reasonable for a weeknight game. However, they are his expectations. I like that he has high expectations.
It is going to take people that reside locally to increase attendance for weeknight games IMO

They battled and came close. Nice work. Side question. Why does App have blank bb uni shorts? The classic block A was a staple. Now their shorts with a stripe look like something you'd get at Dicks sporting goods. Generic
