I’m saying there has been talk that if we beat Louisiana and are ranked espn will most likely move us to Saturday and on prime time

Haven’t heard this but I have heard that flexing to Friday night has been discussed.
Given each other's position in the polls, I doubt a win over UL gets us ranked. Way too many teams to leap over for that to happen.

Other than a conference championship game when is the last time we played them on a Saturday? At least we get them and CCU on more than a full week and not some jacked up short week to include travel.

I really hate “trap game”, “playing down to the competition “ and other catch phrases like that. In my opinion if any App team gets caught up in stuff like that we have serious problems with coaching. We only get 12-14 chances to play every season so there should be zero reason not to be fired up every single game. I’m sure that the team approach is way different than the perceived approach that some message board guys have. I’m glad we have these games back to back. We should be able to wear them out running the ball and that should also loosen them up for an aerial assault. Just have to contain them running and get the W.

ULL is dangerous. They do have some injuries which means someone has an opportunity to step up. Don't let the smooth taste fool you. We must want this game more to get the Dub.

Injuries to 3 OL, 1 DL, 1 WR, 1 RB an 1 K.

I believe this will be a tough game. We are on the road. I like that we have had several road games (including in Charlotte). I realize players graduate and dynamics change (for us too)..but they beat us last year more than the scoreboard. If not for every punt snafu and whatever the "Miracle on the Mountain Coach" was thinking on the last 4th down situation for them last year, game score would have been much worse.
With our dynamic changing that will be difference in the game this year, IMO, is our OC. Ponce creates a game plan that opposing teams actually have to prepare for.

I don't know that you can glean a lot from the game last year given the conditions.
You could also say, if not for the 3 turnovers and the 30 yard FG blowing sideways, we would have beat them handily.
The weather was insane. Combined both QB's were 18-45 for 193 yards. They did handle the conditions better and built a lead. They turned two Turnovers at midfield into TD drives, and they ran the ball with some consistency.

These games are always fun. It should be a good one.

Make no mistake, this will be a dogfight. Both teams have had this circled on their schedule all year. They tend to play some of their best ball against us since Napier arrived. IMO, we have the tools to win this game, but like any good opponent, we better treat them as such. It's not rocket science, we gotta bring our A game and make minimal mistakes. At this point it is up to our players to execute.

It should be a good game.Defensively, they are going to try and keep everything in front of them. The good news is that they don’t typically blitz a lot, so if they can’t pressure on Brice with their pass rush, we should be able to move that ball through the air some.

I don't think that can happen. I believe they can only change a game no later than 12 days before the original date. There are only 8 days between the games if they wait until after the ULL game.

Anything can happen if all parties to the contract are in agreement. In this case it would be the teams, conference, and ESPN. Pretty sure that could get done if they wanted it done badly enough. I don't think it will change, but anything is possible.

BYU flew across the country on 2 days notice to play CCU last season. Anything can happen if ESPN wants it to…

If they were to change to Saturday night that would screw up my reservations at The Horton...checking out on Saturday and it is a 6 hour drive home🤣

I just don't see it happening. Even if they do go through the logistical nightmare of moving a game this close to it, I don't think the pull of an unranked G5 vs a ranked G5 is enough, and I don't see any chance of us hopping into top 25 unless every single top 25 team loses. And like others in this thread, there are going to be a lot of upset people with travel plans if that happens.

Sounds like Corey and Cam have minor injuries and are working with the trainers. Go Apps!

Hadn’t heard of any issues with Corey. Cam has been ankle and Clark said he was about 70% before the GaSt game. Hope Virgil and Noel are completely healed as well.

And Harrington should be a go.

DraftKings has ULL -1.

Maybe these oddsmakers don’t follow little APP. I was thinking we’d be favored by nearly a TD based on watching ULL play, but they make spreads for a living.

I believe said Cam has practice the next couple of days in order to go. It’s good to get Harrington back but not sure one expect much after such a long layoff.

Folks wonder why Cam doesn’t get more carries. Perhaps this is why.

This is very surprising and goes against most computer models which are usually within a point. I’ll reserve judgement until the Vegas books open up.
