Re: Unis for ECU game
There shouldn’t be any direct sun at BOA at 7:30. The sun sets around 8 and with the Upper Deck, field level should already be shaded.
Same with Miami.
Hence, I don’t think Black Unis will be any hotter.

Needs to be all blacks. But my guess is the players are picking the combo and want something a little different

Re: Unis for ECU game
I think I saw on social media that ECU is wearing all purple. Expect we will be in white jerseys, at least.
Give 'em hell!

I was also at that last game in Greenville. It was absolutely miserable. I’ve never seen so many people standing or sitting in the concourse area during the game. It was not even enjoyable

Re: Unis for ECU game
That is what two people in our party at the game did after 1st Q.
The other issue was the cluster... trying to get through front entrance. Everyone was trying to get through one small entrance. Not sure if it was due to construction or what. Horrible. With that said, we play them in Gville again, I will try to be there

Love this. Classic sports fandom. This entire thread is about how miserable and horrible we all were, what an awful experience it was....and as soon as it's possible and next time we can, we're all gonna go back and do it again lolTbatchelor1977 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 1:53 pmHorrible....we play them in Gville again, I will try to be there

Re: Unis for ECU game
A good friend of mine gave us tickets for that contest. Had to sit in the Pirate Club section, but they were good seats and we did get some shade late in the game. Anyway, about halfway through the 2nd Qtr, this young guy behind us had a seizure and it totally freaked everyone out. He wasn't crazy drunk or anything, just not well hydrated for that type of weather.
Got to give credit to Cadet for getting App back into it and nearly winning the game. That was a truly brutal playing environment. Attending the game was a danger to one's health; I can't imagine how hot it was on the field that day.
...but yes, I would do it all over again if I had the chance. GO APP!

Re: Unis for ECU game
FYI, this is a App home game. Both endzones will have App logos and App staff will have control of the video boards, sounds, PA, etc. So App has first choice of uniforms.

Re: Unis for ECU game
I was at all three games mentioned and while I can say all were miserably hot, ECU was the hottest. Wofford and Baton Rouge are tied as a close second. All were HOT!

Re: Unis for ECU game
You guys must have mercifully missed the 2011 Va Tech game. You know the one that was the beginning of the end. I was at ECU, LSU, FLA, and the previously mentioned 2007 Wofford game. The Va Tech game was the hottest for me.

Dukes Mayo classic said each would get an end zone . If that’s the case that is sad.

Re: Unis for ECU game
I was at ECU LSU and VT and totally agree. It was the closest I ever came to leaving an App game early.
Appalachian State, Better than your school since 1899!!!!

Re: Unis for ECU game
I was at all three games and the one in Greenville was a little hotter than the one in BR and Blacksburg. For a 10am game in BR, it was hot as hell. Not sure our team came to Blacksburg that day and Greenville was the hottest game ever.
Montana was the coldest (0 degrees, -20 below with the wind). Beer hat guy and I had to keep the beer in the cooler (with no ice) so they wouldn't freeze. LOL

Re: Unis for ECU game
With it being a 7:30 KO I would think the uniform color wouldn't be that much of an influence. The sun will be low and probably creating long shadows.GregPercussion wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 9:52 amAgain, with this heat. I'm assuming we go more with white or gold jersey with black pants. ECU likely wears purple.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.
