We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
Was told that the Luke Combs concert has been cancelled by the university due to Covid. If so, I'm thinking this does not bode well for the upcoming football season. Anyone have any current accurate info? Just curious about this whole scenario.

Good. Just heard about it over the weekend from an unreliable source and wanted confirmation. They probably got it mixed up with the May date. Not going myself but hope everything goes on as planned. Thanks guys!

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
Someone posted that on Twitter, but someone else who knows someone in Combs camp refuted the claim.
Just like everything else Over the last 18 months, no one really has a single clue what the truth really is. It’s mostly people talking at one another, trying to be the first to report anything.

As of now, concert is still a go. But, conversations between Live Nation, the University, and health department have started. The consensus so far has been to wait to see how lollapalooza fairs.
If there is a concert, don't be surprised if you have to show proof of vaccination or a recent (48-72 hours) negative test.

Combs just played the Faster Horse Festival in Michigan a couple of weeks ago. There is some nice data points for large crowds available.

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
Children have to show proof of childhood immunizations to attend public school, and have for years and there has been no outrage. Historically the people currently refusing the COVID vaccine and likening it to Nazi Germany have railed against the childhood anti-vaxers. Somehow there has been a 180. This country is screwed if we can't look at things logically and apply thing uniformly and not let politics and emotions play into a decision.asumba95 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 1:36 pmPapers please.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:36 amAs of now, concert is still a go. Football games, no, but Appalachian State University, where games, or this concert as we were discussing here, are held, is. Point being that vaccine records have been a thing for a long time and have never been "political" or compared to the star of David until recently

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
I am in the NEZ and just received the below. I am not going. I have 2 NEZ seats. If anyone is interested $120 each.
Good afternoon from the Mountaineers Athletic Fund. We are very excited to have Luke Combs perform at The Rock on September 4th. A quick update on North End Zone (NEZ) seats for the concert.
1) Current NEZ account holders will have the right of first refusal for their seats for the concert. Deadline for a response is Aug 13th.
2) Ticket price is $99.50 per ticket (tickets will be mobile/hard) plus $15.00 handling fee.

To my knowledge, the previous diseases and vaccines have not been used for "political" gain either, which is what has brought about the distrust in everything related to covid. The Rock wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:45 pmFootball games, no, but Appalachian State University, where games, or this concert as we were discussing here, are held, is. Forcing anyone, directly or indirectly, to take vax only further deepens the distrust.

Re: Luke Combs Concert?
I don’t think anyone has “gained” anything from COVID. It has certainly become polarizing, but not sure I would say it has political gain.
Better question is: how did a global pandemic become political? There wasn’t this distrust during the polio epidemic and subsequent vaccine.
