Re: How does ECU look?
That's awesome if the team is now near 90%. As of a week ago it was almost 60%. The 60% was from a player who was working on encouraging team mates to get vaccinated.

This is the range i heard as well. It’s not 90%, ‘94 just can’t help himself but to be a smart ass when he doesn’t have the info and/or doesn’t want to believe it.

For non-vaccinated persons who test positive, the 2020 protocols remain in place, requiring a 10-day isolation.CheckYosef94 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 7:33 pmI'm confused how you think increased vaccination rates will help us not miss position groups. Especially after you just posted a tweet about how the Dolphins' co-offensive coordinator was just sent home after testing covid positive even though he was vaccinated. It would appear that having the vaccination doesn't do anything to ensure that you can keep playing because it is still possible to get and spread covid whether you're vaccinated or not.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 6:40 pmappstate24 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 6:22 pmAnother promising thread ruined by the Covid obsessed crowd. GO APPS!!
Also i eagerly await your posts when we inevitably lose a game because we’re missing an entire position group. Like it or not Covid is going to be a topic of conversation around this team unless there’s a dramatic increase in vaccination rates between now and 9/2. No amount of sticking your head in the sand is going to change that.
I'm not sure how this makes sense from a protecting people from the virus standpoint. We could easily extend non-vaccinated players the same courtesy of being able to come back after two negative tests 24 hours apart. It seems pretty simple to me that you allow players who test negative to play whether they are vaccinated or not. Ignoring negative follow up tests of non-vaccinated players sounds like a punishment to me.

Re: How does ECU look?
If the whole protocol system wasn't set up to punish the non-vaccinated we could allow non-vaccinated players to return after two follow up negative tests 24 hours apart too. The fact that the protocols allow that for vaccinated and not the non-vaccinated is a perfect example of how this is a punishment. The fact is, if you're negative then you can't spread it. Making them wait a minimum of 10 days no matter what is ridiculous.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:30 amJust to follow up with you:CheckYosef94 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 7:33 pmI'm confused how you think increased vaccination rates will help us not miss position groups. So that’s 4 days out while any unvaccinated person would have been *at minimum* 10 days. So basically a week of time saved. That’s why it’s so important in a football context.

Not going to name names but if you follow some of our guys on Twitter and Instagram there are a handful that have shared or liked posts supporting not getting the vaccine. A few very important players too.
I’ll leave it at that but I imagine we’re one of the least vaccinated teams in the Sun Belt

Re: How does ECU look?
This does not bode well for our season if this is true. If we were dealing with last year's Covid virus, it wouldn't be as concerning. Hospitalizations in NC have gone from 391 people at the end of June to 1,359 as of August 1st because of the Delta variant.TomA415 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:21 amNot going to name names but if you follow some of our guys on Twitter and Instagram there are a handful that have shared or liked posts supporting not getting the vaccine. I don't know about those 1,359 people specifically, but across the country 98 to 99% of the new cases are coming out of the unvaccinated group because this Delta variant has 1,000 times the viral load as last year's version. So, the unvaccinated population is at a far greater risk now than ever before. With it's higher viral load it can be passed with a brief momentary exposure. Gov. Cooper will shut things down again if this trend doesn't soon reverse itself...I am lowering my expectations for this season...and hope I'm totally wrong.

Liking or retweeting doesn’t necessarily exhibit complicity. It could be a show of support.TomA415 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:21 amNot going to name names but if you follow some of our guys on Twitter and Instagram there are a handful that have shared or liked posts supporting not getting the vaccine. Re: How does ECU look?
This should be a good game. Both teams should be better than last year. I think that the line is a bit high, but I can see App winning by more than a TD. 9.5 seems about right.AppState89 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:02 pmThought this was a post about "How does ECU look???"

Hell, our sports fix now consists of track, swimming, gymnastics and that European communist brand of football we call soccer. If we don't get a real sport to post about soon I think this board is going to implode. I'll forgive the Covid posts. Seems that's all we got right now to fight over.
Beach Volleyball though, we might get a thread about team 'A' going.

I feel the same way. Think it will be a close game. I want to win by 21+, but know that most likely won't happen. I love my dad (ECU grad), but I want him to have a bad 78th birthday. Re: How does ECU look?
That’s awful nice of you. Lol. I think that a 21 point margin is possible. I’m not going to get overly excited or overly critical based on any margin. I want to see how the OL looks and how Chase and the WR look in terms of timing.AppState89 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:46 pmI feel the same way. Think it will be a close game. Was watching beach volleyball the other night with my 8 year old daughter (at her request, I promise). “Dad, you can see their buttcheeks!”mike87 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:36 pmHell, our sports fix now consists of track, swimming, gymnastics and that European communist brand of football we call soccer. Re: How does ECU look?
The closer we get the more I think the line is high. I'm thinking this is a field goal affair, the real question is who is going to be kicking them for us? If I have to watch us lose another game because of a field goal mishap I may explode, and that's not directed just at Staton. We've had plenty of letdowns before him as well that I happened to be attending.

Re: How does ECU look?
I started it with a quote from ECU Houston about the advantage that he has having his team almost fully vaccinated. Then I found out how low ours was and that the team has the same division in the ranks that the members of this board have.AppState89 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:02 pmThought this was a post about "How does ECU look???"

That is very relevant.
The group that started the whining and all praised the post quoted are in my opinion who changed the conversation.
The availability of players based on testing on game day is I believe very relevant to how AppState matches up against ECU.

I believe it’s been done before by the longest field goal in history. It took forever for that thing to get through the uprights.

You were right about that. Jerry Harmon kicked that thing and it seemed like it took 5 minutes to go through the uprights! Great win by Apps over the pierats in 1975 at Conrad Stadium!!

Yosef told me recently that there are two things you can take to the bank. Try to take away his musket and you’ll have to pry it out of his cold, dead hands and that he ain’t getting no vaccination.
