Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Remember when Woodlands would sell sandwiches at the football games?
Contract with Pepsi wouldn't let us sell tea to go with them, but somehow we sell beer.

Yes and the aroma would waft thru the stadium - it was next to impossible to not hike over to the APP side for one or two ---

Not supposed to make any big changes, but honestly Woodlands food has gone downhill for several years now. I've spent more time in that place the past 41 years than any other restaurant/bar in the High Country. It had a great run.

That would be a poorly written contract.

Just looked up the listing for curiosity sake. They want 2.95 million for the place and property. That is a lot of pork that needs to be sold.

Tea is a replacement and therefore a competitor to Pepsi. A beer is in a different market of drinks, if only due to age restrictions but there are other reasons to place them in different categories.

Agreed. I’ve always loved it but last time I went, my food tasted like it’s been microwaved

This. Everything/everyone eventually runs out of steam and starts to take the path of least resistance. (Peppers is another example) Kudos to Woodlands for doing it well for as long as they did and for all the good food, music, and good times. 🍻

I only say that because I have written contracts with Pepsi that did not disallow, lemonade, water, or tea. Maybe things have changed.

Fun fact about Pepsi. They own Tropicana Orange Juice. Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays serves Coke products. Come undercut them on rights.

This was some years ago, in fact I should say decades. My future wife was coaching summer swim league. Pepsi or Coke was providing drinks and the contract was such that they HAD to put the cola in the cuo. Even an option of taking the logo-printed cup with ice for the price of a cola but without the cola in it was not an option. She wanted water but I had to take the cola and pour it out and then find a water cooler.

I am not sure of the point I am making except some of these contracts are written in a way to protect their market. Either that or the folks doling out the drinks were complete idiots and did not know what they were doing.

Also Pepsi may have proposed this with the incentive for us to go along with it by reducing the price to us or in same way allowing us to make a higher profit margin for each drink sold. It may be a great contract from the standpoint of maximizing money to App athletics.

Haven't been there in 10+ years. Last time I had a bout of vertigo and threw up all over their bathroom floor (lucky I made it that far). Point to the story - nope, don't have one, just mindless meandering.

I worked for Pizza Hut delivery during my time in Boone. Before Pepsi bought the Pizza Hut chain, the Boone franchise signed a long term contract with Coke. Even after Pepsico took over they still served Coke products.

I have eaten at Woodlands for 30 years. I remember when it burned down. We went through Woodlands withdrawals. A trip to the mountains has to include Woodlands. However, the last two times I went the portions were off and quality was slipping. Hopefully, a change in ownership will get it back to where it needs to be.
