Frankly, after blowing (though credit to TS for making the shots) an 8 point lead in a minute, I thought the emotion of letting it slip away would cost us in OT. A great testament to this team's fight and determination. That's on top of the effort late in the game to overcome a relatively poor performance throughout much of the game. It looked grim at times but the guys kept at it.

Not sure what's left in the tank but you can get the effort will be there tonight.

Texas State was 8-20 from 3. Four of those were from Curryland in the last minute 2 of them pure desperation shots that were contested...Sports Center worthy. Our team on the other hand didn’t quit which to me shows faith in our staff. Mistakes magnify themselves in a close game and there were a few ( guarding the 3 was not 1 of them) but we forget that we got the ball to our good FT shooter during this same time in the face of a good press.
Kerns has us talking about basketball again. 1-0 baby survive and advance.

Anyone seen Denveroftheeast or is waiting for a loss to drop knowledge on why Kerns isn’t a good coach?

I’ve been critical of this team all year. So when they deserve it I applaud! Very good game! When the threes are falling we can play. Hope they continue to fall because the defense keeps us in games!

In his post-game interview, Kerns said he wanted to foul at the end of regulation. I'm not sure why the guys didn't, but Kerns was thinking the same way we all were. Credit Texas State for making some unbelievable shots to give them a chance.

If we make them throw it in instead of rolling it up we win by six in regulation. But hey ....Go! Fight! Win Apps!

I had typed in the W prematurely not expecting those crazy shots- sorry for the near jinx. I am just happy that we won and that we are moving on but I agree with some of the comments. You have to make a team get the ball in and make it tough to bring the ball up with 3 seconds left. If you let a team roll the ball to half court it’s the same as a timeout and getting the ball out at half court. They still had to make a tough contested shot but applying back court pressure would probably force a longer heave. Once we went to overtime I thought we might crater. Go Apps!

Anyone who implies that Kerns isn’t a good coach clearly doesn’t understand bball and/or has not followed his career.

I think it just all happened too fast. We were out of TOs and they just pushed it off the rebound of Forrest’s miss. Ideally they’d have known exactly what to do, but I’m sure not being able to sit down and have the coaches go over it with them hurt.
