Discipline/penalties have been a problem all year. I hope the “players’ coach” thing works out.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

If something doesn't change, it will be easy for a coach to lose his team totally.

Our offensive coaching staff has made us anemic. Anemia is a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues. Having anemia can make you feel tired and weak. There are many forms of anemia, each with its own cause. Anemia can be temporary or long term, and it can range from mild to severe.
Make the change before this becomes too severe and long term.

From inside the 20, the run should have been on first down. If it goes, that's fine. If not, run the clock. You can be successful calling your time outs and still play conservative based on the results of the punt/field position. You can even go tempo and run the ball on second down. Then, once you pick up the first down, you start attacking down field.

At the beginning of the year I was really hoping that Zac stayed an extra year because I just knew he was a really good qb and would have a big year this year and the next. Now, I am really looking forward to whoever we have the starter next year. All the experience hasn't improved his play this year, he has clearly regressed and I really don't think a new starter will play any worse and hope there is a bigger upside. I am not sure what happened to Zac but I feel for him because this can't be the way he planned to go out.

We have not been penalized any more this year than the previous 3 under other coaching staffs. As for this game these refs are complete doo doo. First hold on Hannon was a phantom call, second was iffy. Both of their big runs were aided by huge holds but whatever I guess. Oh and the taunting they didn't call when their defender is standing over ZT flexing, or when their WR hit Stephen Jones in the face.... except they didn't call any of that.Appsolutely wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:38 pmDiscipline/penalties have been a problem all year. better be some adjustments at halftime on the offense. Tired of 3rd and 4th short and us throwing the ball backwards and sideways. Move forward.

I was fooled by the fake urgency to score before the half. We look like we just don’t give a damn and I don’t fully blame the student athletes, if we get our asses handed to us we should really pack it in, playing a bowl game after losing every game that matters would be sillyAppStateMtneer wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:35 pmWhen that's 90% of your "arsenal" why should that come as a surprise?

Re: App at Ga Southern Game Day Thread Dec 12 2020
Having watched [followed obsessively] App State Football my entire adult life, I’ve grown accustomed to a certain style of play. It remained part of the team’s week in and week out style to exploit weaknesses and level the playing field with exceptional attention to detail and wrinkles designed to catch the opposing team off guard. It survived coaching changes, graduating classes, and all the ups and downs of the transition to FBS. However this year, the offense has become unwatchable. The OC has no handle on the talent, let alone a thought to game plan around an opposing defense. We’ve gone from taking advantage of minute details to running 1 of 3 plays. I’m all for the Shawn Clarke HC hire, but his offensive staff needs to catch up.

This 2020 team has looked lost all season, and has no identity. We are in danger of losing all the momentum we've earned in the last five years.

Defense is playing well. Has kept us in this game and every other game this year. Cant argue with it.
The motivation of our offense has declined since the first game.

Pretty evident the one year anniversary of this hire was a mistake......hard to watch where we are or have regressed, especially on offense.

I was for it but the players had too much influence on the hire.

Henny with a td grab! Only down 3 now. D has to play big now, as they have all season for us.

Not being sarcastic, Todd, but are you saying that if Shawn doesn't win this one that he's toast after only one year into his contract with a 7-4 2020 COVID season?

We should be able to put our 8 men in the box and dare them to throw, but then again we can’t get pressure.
