I hope we blow the doors off of them, but historically it was usually a close hard fought game and that is what I expect here. I just love we are playing this game.

App State - 31
Marshall - 20
I'm with you on that. There have been a few blowouts but most of them were close. The last game was not close because Marshall was I-A while we were I-AA at the time. Marshall was a better program than they have been the last 10 years or so. I'm thrilled we are playing this game as well and hope we play it every year at some point.

I'll go with this

App State 31
Marshall 24

I'll say we score late in 4th and get a big stop to clinch the win.

Sorry guys, you lose this game. We are not the same team as last year. Your run game get shut down and our speed off the edge will crush your QB. In short, a long day for App State. Drive safe for those coming up. Go Herd

Unless you guys have some edge speed that is faster than that found at both Carolina's, I think our Oline can hold up. Honestly, can't think of a game in which our current QB has been crushed by edge rushers with any consistency, or our run game was shut down. Might want to take a look at the stats, we are always in the top percentage of rushing yards and fewest sacks allowed.

"In each of its first six FBS seasons, App State ranked in the top 25 nationally in rushing yards per game AND fewest sacks allowed. Shawn Clark was the line coach for the last four years, including 2018 and 2019 seasons when the group was recognized as a top-15 FBS line by the Joe Moore Award."-- media game notes for this game

Our Oline is a very seasoned group with 4 returning starters, so sounds like it should be strength on strength. You clearly like your edge speed and I will take our Oline. One of us will be upset at the results but hopefully all will enjoy the renewal of this rivalry. During my time at App, this game always mattered the most with that damn Furman squad coming in second.

Buddy, our run game has not been shut down since Miami 3 years ago.

This is tough, because I don’t think we have a complete picture of either team. Marshall killed EKU, but judging by WVU’s equal throttling of them the next week, I suspect that doesn’t mean a whole lot.

Our flaws in week one were mostly special teams and mental mistakes. I trust Coach Clark to have addressed a lot of that.

Good guys win 28-27.

after watching highlights of both teams' first games, I feel like we have the speed/athleticism advantage. Our experienced O-line, RBs, WRs should be able to move the ball effectively. Our defense will need to tighten up....D. Taylor, Diarassouba, etc. need to make their QB uncomfortable early and our d-backs need to do what they're capable of in coverage.

Finally!, I have always wanted to go to a football game at Marshall. Let's make this a series again. Marshall looked very tough against EKU. Weather looks great, so we should cut out the turnovers and slick kicking surfaces i hope. Go Apps!!

Mountaineers - 28
Blundering Terds - 16

We actually already had a H&H series set up with them before the Covid changes. They will come to Boone next year (2021) and then we're back in Huntington 2022, and then they're back in Boone 2029 as the return for tomorrow's game.

I do apologize for the typo mistake. I just think some on here are vastly underestimating this team based on last years results. We have a much upgraded roster this year. We have 5 Sr O Line with 2 NFL O Line prospects. We have a fantastic backfield and a new QB who can find open WR.

If our D that has players back from last years injuries can contain your Off then I think MU wins the day.

I mean no offense to any of you. I am so happy this series is alive. Heck, I wish App State, Ga Souther and MU were all in the same conference.
