We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Yosef Club and FAA
In light of the recent news the past few days I want to encourage everyone to be sure to join the Yosef Club if you're not already a member. If you are a member encourage others who are not a member to join. The Former Athletes' Association is a part of Yosef as well. The FAA gets $30 of your YC membership to help us with: senior awards, letters, letter jackets, Hall of Fame breakfast and program, and the the athletic achievement recognitions at the APPSPYs Awards Banquet. Student-athletes, coaches, administration and staff all attend to applaud another year of accomplishments for the Mountaineers. If you are a former athlete be sure to note that on your membership when contacting the Yosef Club.
If a lump sum donation is not feasible you can set up a monthly bank draft (as I have always done). Just think: if every alumnus would commit to $10/month to the Yosef Club our athletes would not be in this predicament.
Thanks for reading and always remember: If you're lucky enough to be a Mountaineer you're lucky enough!

Thanks, Chuck! As an added note to my post the Alumni Association notes that there are over 130,000 living alumni. $10/month/year X 130,000 = $15,600,000. Think about it.....asu66 wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 12:22 pmJust sayin'...scatman77 wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 11:37 amIn light of the recent news the past few days I want to encourage everyone to be sure to join the Yosef Club if you're not already a member. Re: Yosef Club and FAA
Are there really only 3047 Yosef club members in 2020? That's what the little calculator says. That's absolutely pathetic considering how many living alumni we have. I did the math based on the above....2.3% of our graduates. How in the world do we improve that?

Re: Yosef Club and FAA
Also, keep in mind that a good # of our Yosef Club members are not even alumni (know a few myself)...just fans of the program, locals, etc. I'd be curious to know what % of YC membership is actual Appalachian alumni and what % is not. I would not be shocked if it's at least a 70-30 spread.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 2:40 pmAre there really only 3047 Yosef club members in 2020? Re: Yosef Club and FAA
That is correct. If I recall correctly as well, only 300 of those members are former Athletes.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 2:40 pmAre there really only 3047 Yosef club members in 2020? Don't forget, some employers will match donations up to a certain amount, and in most cases can have it deducted from your paycheck. My employer matches up to $5k.

Re: Yosef Club and FAA
My understanding (but I'm not sure) is that number is very inflated. I think it includes people who maybe haven't given in years. I'd love to know how many Yosef members have given something consistently for the past 3 or five years.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 2:40 pmAre there really only 3047 Yosef club members in 2020? Re: Yosef Club and FAA
We need to have a constant effort on signing up as many new App people as possible on small monthly amounts ($10 or $20) on credit card or bank draft, simple process as possible. Large donors are great but if they are the only ones you pursue and cater to, not good. I spent 35 in the insurance agency business and last 6 years with United Fund and this is what i believe, "Deal with the masses and you will eat with the classes, deal with only the classes and you will go belly up" It is all about a lot of people doing a little, a little is much easier to enroll or sell if you have a good cause! I truly believe someone or some organization could enroll at least 50% of everyone approached to give $10 per month (with easy enrollment) for the App cause! It is great to be a Mountaineer!!!!!

Just a reminder if you don't do autodraft and don't donate all at once, 50% is due by the 31st.

Psh, your calendar doesn't have an extra day in it? That's reserved for those high roller Yosef Club members I guess.TheMoody1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:20 pmJune 30th.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 10:21 amJust a reminder if you don't do autodraft and don't donate all at once, 50% is due by the 31st.![]()
