Currently up 8-6 End of 5th on the #24 team in the country. It would be big for this team to beat a ranked P5.

WAY TO GO CY, got out of a bases loaded 2 out jam to hang onto the 2 run lead.

Ugh, Papp comes in in the bottom of the 7th, gives up 2. 8-8.

T8 - good guys had runners at 1st and 3rd but couldn't do anything with it.

B8 - Wake scores on a 2 out base hit to 3rd (runners on 2nd and 3rd) to take the 9-8 lead.

T9 - App advances to 3rd on a passed ball then scores on a 1 out fielder's choice to 1st base. 9-9

Wake has the 6, 7, 8 hitters coming up in the bottom of the 9th.

Great win for App tonight. They could have thrown in the towel when Wake took their last lead. Instead they looked like a more seasoned team than what I have seen on ESPN+. Striking out Simonett in the ninth inning was a back breaker for Wake. Surprised they didn’t call the game. Poured rain the last two innings. Good crowd of App fans. Might easily have outnumbered Wake fans.

This team shows promise. Of the 5 losses so far we had leads in 3 of them that were blown relatively late. Was up 3-1 on GW, up 5-3 on KY, up 5-1 on KY. Just have to figure things out in the pen and it seems like this team could make a little noise, though i think next year is when we truly see Kermits first dividend paying season.

Oh for sure, and certainly inexperienced. I was surprised during the GW series with how many “first outing for App State” qualifiers i saw, at least for pitchers. Guess i hadn’t been paying close enough attention to the roster.
