What's up with Alex Leach? Have not seen his name lately. Thought he was a starter with great potential at the beginning of the season.

Still recovering from a concussion. Saw on Twitter yesterday where Crespo was wishing him luck on the impact test, not sure what the results were.

Being 8 games over .500 with the biggest bat in the line-up sidelined is a positive sign. If he is able to come back healthy, could see a strong finish to the season with the last 3 SoCon series at home.

He has not passed the concussion test so he can get back on the field. I saw where he was supposed to take it yesterday but idk how he did his bat would really be helping us out. He would be that factor that would change a series win into a sweep or a series loss into a win. It would be great to get him back with sometime to get back into things before the tourney and possibly regionals.

He's had quite the layoff, one has to wonder how he will perform once he returns.

I agree i wonder if he is allowed to hit or anything during his time off or is it strictly no baseball at all. That is why i would rather him come back sooner rather than later to get some at bats under his belt before the post season

Leach is not allowed to do anything. Needs to pass the reaction test. It will be like starting all over for him. A shame for him and us.

I saw a tweet from Leach yesterday that he has been cleared to play again. Anyone know more about this and if he will get to play any at all?

I seriously doubt he would provide much help at this point...too long a layoff.

Since App is playing a DH today, it might good to let him DH one of those games and get some ABs in. I wouldn't expect him to come in and take over 1B again, but he could definitely DH some games. may be a long layoff, but at this level you just have to get thrown in there and its like riding a bike

I heard he dropped out of classes this semester due to the injury and was looking at redshirting this year if he played in less than 25% of the overall games. If he comes back for the remaining games, it takes that away.

I heard the same thing but didn't post in my response because I wasn't sure I remembered correctly.

Dang hap, you and I had the same moment. ;) I've been racking my brain (not all that hard since there's not much there) all afternoon trying to remember if/where I heard/read that. I'm spending WAY too much time on twitter. All this stuff is starting to run together.

You guys aren't dreaming. I posted this last weekend. He dropped out second semester. Will come back for summer school. I think it was in my Elon post.

I saw his tweet too. Maybe it just means he's ready to get back to baseball activities? Don't think it'd be a problem for him to work out with the team.
