GSU adds rifle

Rifle only allows 3.6 scholarships seems like a strange add.

Which women's sport do we add? The only one the Belt offers is swimming/diving.

Interesting site for scholarships limits by sport:

http://www.wegotplayers.com/webroot/fil ... Limits.pdf

By my count if we fully fund all women's sports that would be just under 100 scholarships.

Football and basketball for men equate to 98 scholarships. We are going to have to add a women's program.

There must be more to title IX than just number of scholarships, thoughts?

No need for off campus recruiting. They simply walk through the student parking lot and the drivers of the first four pick-ups with rifles hanging in the rear window make the team.

Women's Bowling. Yes it is a NCAA sponsored sport that offers 5 scholarships.

They could use the Rec pool for swimming but I am not sure if they have the pool part for diving. I think a lot of the HBCUs are doing bowling since it is very cheap to run relative to about any other sport.

The thing is that a lot of current users would have to be displaced to allow for swimming practices and home meets.

It would be a problem. GaSo has swimming already, but they really don't have many sports total. They are a two trick pony - football and baseball.

If we add a sport I would prefer it be a sport the SB sponsors, and women's S&D would fit the bill. W S&D is the only SB sport we don't have. And we have some history with the sport going back many years ago. But yes, it would be a problem with having everything organized for everyone's needs.

We do offer Men's Soccer, Wrestling, and Women's Field Hockey that the SB does not offer.
