Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb
So I was a bit curious about how the Mighty Bobby Lamb fell so hard. I whole heartily believe the thrashing he took at KBS in 2006 was the beginning of the end for him. He never beat us again and his records took quite a nose dive. Do I believe that a mid season beat down zapped a really good coach of his coaching prowess? Yes I do and I love it.

Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb
If that makes you feel better. I doubt a loss 13 years ago ruined his career and, if so, I see no reason to celebrate it. Moreover, his "contribution" to our FBS success was pretty important. If he hadnt been Furman's coach, we probably don't get his son to come to Boone.NavyApp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 6:47 amSo I was a bit curious about how the Mighty Bobby Lamb fell so hard. Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb
I got to know the Lamb family during Taylor's days in Boone. This saddens me.

Odds are, we'll have a few openings this off-season...CVAPP wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:10 amIf not he will land somewhere else.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:04 amPerhaps Napier will pick him up for special teams coach.

Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb
I feel for the Lamb family. The life of a college football coach is stressful. I wonder if Mercer is really committed to doing "what it takes" to develop a winning program. I tend to agree that they will probably get more of the same.

Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb
Something tells me South Carolina might change up their coaching staff. Taylor may can help his Dad out.

Re: Mercer Fires Bobby Lamb
I remember him stating at a press conference something like he was "coming to Armanti's graduation ceremony to make sure he walked across that damn stage."
