Despite having only one loss, it’ll be very hard for Cincinnati to overcome getting beat 42-0. I get that it was Ohio State, but being shutout in college football is a bad look. Being destroyed by 42 by anyone is terrible.
This loss for UCF does help us but again if we don't win the SBC and run the table it will not matter for us. #1-0 #WinSBC #BeatULL

Ethan Joyce tweeted this and I thought it as soon as the game was over; Cincinnati will pass us in the number of votes received this week.
That was my first thought as well. I don't think they move into the rankings but I bet they are 26-30 range for sure now.

Here is an interesting scenario. What if they do pass us by a couple slots but then we beat ULL by say 20 points or so? I wonder if we would then pass Cincy the following week?

Talk of the votes are moot if we don’t win the conference. That is the only criteria that is absolute to get a NY6 bid. It matters nil what everyone else does if we don’t win the conference.
Exactly.

I don’t think Cincy passes us this week, at least in AP.

But I also don’t think they’ll be hindered that much in the long run by the OSU loss if OSU keeps blowing out Big 10 teams too.

I think they pass us in at least the coaches poll and I'll be surprised if many media voters don't go with Cincy over us. Cincy has a loss to a top 5 team that most of the Big Ten is going to take by 30 or more as well and a top 25 win.

For us though all that matters right now is #1-0 #BeatULL

I think we can lose the remainder of our games and still be ranked as long as AAC teams keep losing too.
