I remember reading an interview with Satt early in the summer where the interviewer asked him what was the most unexpected thing he saw when he came to Louisville. He said the amount of talent, or rather lack thereof. He said there were players at Louisville on scholarship that App wouldn't have even recruited. Based on what I saw last night, I think I see what he means; especially on the offensive and defensive lines. Both sides of the line were a major weak point for the Cardinals.

Two of those fumbles had a significant impact on the game. That's part of the game but without those it could have been an interesting 4th quarter. Satt has some nice pieces to work with, if he can keep the team's confidence in a positive light, they could be competitive the rest of the way. In the end, his ability to recruit will be the key.

IF (and that's a huge if) Notre Dame is as good as their ranking, I think Louisville can win 6 games. They don't have the toughest schedule this year.

His QB needs to learn how to secure the ball. Anyway, it was fun watching familiar plays. I saw the slant that AE and Dexter used to burn Michigan. I saw a very familiar RPO set up that sprung the QB a la Taylor and Zac. I didn't see Scott's Tight End Surprise, I like to call it. Maybe he doesn't have a TE with good hands yet.

If Louisville doesn't fumble to end the half, game ends 14-14. Then they get the ball at the beginning of the second half, seemingly driving for a scoring opportunity, and fumble again.

They were in position to have a one score game heading into the latter stages of the fourth without those turnovers. I got shades of Penn State (18') watching this game but Ian Book is quite a bit better than McSorley and Louisville doesn't have the depth or player type on defense to maintain what App was able to do in Happy Valley.

In 2 years, around the time it took for Nate Woody, Louisville will be back to where they were with Lamar Jackson.

Satts, Louie Defense performed well, but as happens way to often gave up an opening drive TD. Some things don't change.

Recruiting obviously gets WAY over analyzed, especially on this board. We get carried away with the star thing, and often rightfully so. I think we might have a great example of how important it is to "get it right". That means a lot for Satt to say that many of the Louisville kids would not even be offered at App. We have guys who could be on P5 rosters and there are lots of P5 players who would not play for us. That makes me feel good about where we are as a program. I hope Satt gets the ship righted up there and is successful. I really hope that Drink keeps the pipeline going with the talent we seem to gather every year.
