As I said, I don't have anything against UNCC the institution (save Judy Rose's snobbery), but I do against their GSU-esque fans.
That was my point. I have no love for Charlotte, could care less if they win a game in any sport. I just no need to trash the university.

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
I would be very surprised and disappointed if they said what she said IF she said it. If you are ashamed of the product your company produces you need to either leave or work to improve it. It is very simple to sit back and criticize. It takes someone with a backbone and an appreciation for what they have been given to do the right thing. It takes someone with no appreciation for the opportunity they have been given to sit back and criticize and do nothing to improve the product. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. It makes me very sad that she did not learn that while at ASU. That is IF she really did say what she was quoted as saying.Kgfish wrote:Good thing professors at ASU never complain about the university.bcoach wrote:It also looks like anyone with a pulse can teach there. One of my closest buddies from second grade-on graduated from UNC-C. I consider him as close as anything I have to a brother, so other than banter and smack talk, I wouldn't trash the school, as I wouldn't want to trash him (we're steering clear of this Conference USA mess presently, though he does feel we belong alongside them).bcoach wrote:Yes NOAppinVA wrote:Wow. That said, I also won't call a member of my ASU...excuse me...App State Family, that I didn't otherwise know, lazy or unqualified. In part, because of her degree from Appalachian she is qualified to teach at UNC-Charlotte (according to her bosses). She is also qualified to have opinions about the type of student that comes through her class and express them privately. I'm also going to make a safe assumption that she was both off the clock and off campus, which makes your argument moot in the eyes of the law.
Let's take this a step further. Coach Moore, who is still under contract to the school until the end of the fiscal year, hasn't been what you could call a "model employee" since his whatever you wish to call it (it's not important, as he's still employed by the school). I'm sure he's said some things privately about his direct supervisor that you feel would be grounds for firing for cause. Do you believe, as I do, that IF he would like, we should offer to employ him to be an ambassador for App State? I feel we'd be stupid not to, but going on what you've said above, he should be dismissed immediately.

Let's put it this way. I love coach Moore and always will I believe. If he is making remarks that are damaging to the university that can be found on a message board his pay needs to stop TODAY!!!AppinVA wrote:One of my closest buddies from second grade-on graduated from UNC-C. Dude, in what world is AppVa's friend making comments in a private conversation damaging to the university? It was a conversation between friends, not an on-record, public exposé on the lackluster academic rigors of UNCC's undergrad.bcoach wrote:Let's put it this way. Its pretty common knowledge that a degree from UNCC doesn't hold much prestige anyway. I really don't understand why you're getting so upset other than some sort of allegiance to them.

Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
Glad I could play into your hands? I don't think either one has anything to worry about, as I said before. Any comment made in private off the clock and off premises won't hold up in a court of law. Especially ones that are relayed on a message board. Other than that hot blond that's dating that French guy on that commercial, I don't think anyone else takes what's on the Internet as gospel (not saying this is, or is not, but I'll take JT at his word).bcoach wrote:Let's put it this way. Re: UNCC sees recruiting boost
I'd be willing to bet that if the professor said what was attributed, the professor did so with no intention of it ending up on a message board. Employees are allowed to voice frustrations in a personal conversation without being labled as "lazy." Your concern shouldn't be with the professor, but with the person sharing a confidential conversation.bcoach wrote:Let's put it this way. I love coach Moore and always will I believe. Additionally, how do you know that the professor isn't working to change things at UNCC to the way they think it should be? You're making a big assumption that the professor simply voiced an opinion and then is sitting back and cashing checks. This person is owed more than the story you've constructed with the disclaimer, of course, that your story only applies if the professor actually made said statement.

It was JT's friend, but yep. Coincidentally, my friend holds a job in the IT department at UNC-C. If they knew that he felt ASU should be in C-USA, they may fire him, though.
Hope Judy Rose doesn't see this. Though bcoach would have no problem with it.
