We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.
Basketball and the AD
Re: Basketball and the AD
It has nothing to do with any perks, bonuses, etc. It's the way I've been treated PERSONALLY on more than one occasion. NEVER by any players or coaches, though. My relationships...especially with those kids...are precious to me. That's what keeps me going!

wanna really go out on a limb???? try also linking mickey matthews to this conversation. i believe he's the one who pointed out more success would come running the spread with armanti over trey. yes the 1st championship was with ritchie but the explosion of asu wins and fan support is due to several factors...and yes, p.r. of the chancellor helps but last i checked, peacock doesn't know how to read a defensive scheme yet...

Bingo, BHG re: the Chancellor and ditto for the AD in that he shouldn't be involved in details of the O and D either. He's paid too much for that.PBR1893-BEER-HAT-GUY wrote:AdoptedApp wrote:Playing devil's advocate, could you say for certain that w/o Cobb and Peacock we would have enjoyed equal success? And there were tons on here who persisted in communicating that Trey should have been the starting QB over Armanti.
FWIW...rep point.

IMOP, what you say is correct to a large extent. However, ALL ASU coaches were told exactly the same thing as Moore. My question is (and I already know what answer the ones who didn't appreciate Moore very much will say), but I feel compelled to ask the question "Can you say for certain that the successful years we had would have happened under a coach's leadership besides Jerry Moore?"
I ask that question because there have been several on this board who have implied that without Cobb specifically, the three NC's and win over Michigan would not have happened. Only one or two have actually said that, but many have implied that.

^ Referring to how you quoted yourself a few posts above. It appeared as though you were talking to yourself. Pretty funny, actually.

If you recall he talked about our lack of basketball "genes." Of course, one player from that era that did have the "genes" was Stan Davis.
It was a sad time for both ASU basketball and Maravich personally.
