Re: Off Season Reading: Jalin Moore #13 RB
Am I the only one getting nervous about all this "way too early" praise and high expectations?
I mean I think this could be one of the best teams in App State history . . . just makes me nervous . . .

That's just the Duke basketball fan in you talking. Understandable reaction.MtnDevil95 wrote:Am I the only one getting nervous about all this "way too early" praise and high expectations?

The 1-2 punch with Moore and Upshaw next year is going to be great to see. It'll be nice to see Boyd get some playing time as well if he's healthy.

Preason #13 RB in FBS, who is also the reigning Sun Belt offensive player of the year.
This is also the year after we lost our all-time leading rusher to graduation, and that's a different dude.
Phenomenal.

Nice recognition for JMoore. Looks like Satt and company have another good 1-2 combo in the backfield this season. It would be even better if Boyd or Williams steps up to take some of the load off of Moore.
Upshaw has shown well in his appearances against the big time programs. TU averaged over 6 per carry against both, Michigan and Clemson (yes I realize 52 of 69 came on 1 carry against the Tigers).
Hopefully these guys have another successful season to keep pressure off of Lamb.

People get nervous when we get recognition and people get pissed when we don't. Neither one makes a damn difference in what happens on the field.MtnDevil95 wrote:Am I the only one getting nervous about all this "way too early" praise and high expectations?

I agree. I wasn't knocking him. I just think this will be a year like '15 as far as passing goes. Lamb is a real talent, I love to see him run.Rekdiver wrote:Lamb is enough of a threat to keep the D honest. Give the man some credit!!

Re: Off Season Reading: Jalin Moore #13 RB
Jalin Moore is a BEAST! Flat out plain and simple he is a work horse and I think he is going to break out on a national level this year. But I would like to take a minute to reflect on the stable of backs our coaching staff has a assembled. We all know about the freight train that is Upshaw, I know we are all excited to see what Evans can do with more touches. Then Boyd is always exciting to watch, and I am really excited to see what redshirt freshman Marcus Williams does he was a big flip commit late in the last recruiting class. Let's not forget about the studs we are bringing in this year in De'Vonta Smith(who on paper may be the most under recruited player in the country, also his film is a fun watch) and Harrington (who looks like a grinder on tape). Man the rich keep getting richer, I honestly believe our running back depth may be the best of any position group in all of the G5. Man I am excited for some FOOTBALL!!!!

Evans probably going to be a slot receiver this year now that we have suitable RB depth. I am with NavyApp on DeVonta Smith - think he might turn out to be one of the steals of the class.

That would be Elon, but Duke was right there with us making a late run at him.

Re: Off Season Reading: Jalin Moore #13 RB
I believe Marcus is going to be a great player for us. The Elon flip was a foregone conclusion as soon as we made his offer committable. His official visit sealed the deal for both us and him. As for Duke, they had two RB's already in the 2016 class (one listed as an ATH but he's a RB). They were not taking another one unless one flipped, which neither did.NavyApp wrote:That would be Elon, but Duke was right there with us making a late run at him.NO.2 wrote:Who did we flip Marcus from?

Yeah, it wasn't so much that Duke made a late run at him as Duke was reported as having "offered" him much earlier. I'll leave it to you to judge how likely it is that a kid with a legit Duke offer would have been committed to Elon.

I really like being in the position of just "reloading" at RB position after having a record holder graduate. Feels really good and kind of Bama'ish. Now let's get to that point with our other positions across the offense and defense.
That is how you win Championships!

All the great RB's aren't worth 2 cents without some beef in front of them. I want to see us reload BIG lineman!!!!!!
