I wish the graphic and presser didn't make it seem like a two-for-one. Aren't they paying us for the third game?

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
The contract details have already been posted in this thread.appvette wrote:Anybody know the contract details? Payout amount for third game?
But repeating:
Although money and tickets will be exchanged for the first two games, the net result is a wash.
UNC will pay us approximately $800,000 for the third game. With tickets, we could bring that to a total of $900,000. That's roughly $200,000 to $300,000 less than what a P5 pays a G5 nowadays for a money game. But consider it the cost of launching a series with our state's flagship university. Money well spent, if you ask me.

Meh. Doesn't really move the needle for me. They're incredibly overrated on the gridiron. What I am pumped about is the opportunity for some of our fans to have a "come-to-Jesus" moment when we beat them. Hopefully these "fans" will realize that we can compete with anybody and are worthy of their FULL support.

Re: UNCCH to Boone?
Not the best football matchup, and it glorifies thier ACC status.
I am happy it is a instate game, within driving distance to the majority of the fanbase, against the cheating flagship. If we win the majority or God forbid sweep them.......Oh my, kiss all of these types of series good bye...

Lets not put the cart before the horse. Prior to them announcing this series no one even thought this was a remote possibly that they would agree to play us much less come to Boone. Lets not kid ourselves its a big deal.manonabuffalo wrote:Not the best football matchup, and it glorifies thier ACC status.

Also we haven't beaten a P5 in a decade so before I worry about "sweeping" anyone I'm just trying to win one ball game.

Taking a little less money also isn't that big of deal since travel costs will be minimal compared to some other trips.AppGrad78 wrote:The contract details have already been posted in this thread.appvette wrote:Anybody know the contract details? Payout amount for third game?

Thanks... I saw that but it was posted before the official announcement so I didn't know how much of it was speculation.

Plus, we'll be at capacity for the game in Boone for sure so add in those gate receipts...and I hope that we show up big time in Chapel Hill...this is an awesome opportunity!JTApps1 wrote:Taking a little less money also isn't that big of deal since travel costs will be minimal compared to some other trips.AppGrad78 wrote:The contract details have already been posted in this thread.appvette wrote:Anybody know the contract details? Anyone that doesn't see this as a win-win for app needs their head examined. Biggest crowd at Kidd brewer...period! The stadium will be updated for a larger crowd by then and when our recruits see our fans and the electricity throughout the stadium, it will payoff big time. Unc will make money when we go there...we will represent very well...we will make money...and we will make money on the third game. Can't wait...can't come soon enough! GTHC!!!!!
Re: UNCCH to Boone?
I had a similar experience in Chapel Hill, as I did in Michigan and Florida. Georgia wasn't so bad either. NC State fans, on the other hand, are a bunch of rednecks. Almost down there with GaSo.Rick83 wrote:I've been to the Dean Dome twice to watch us play the Tar Heels and their fans treated us fine and we were all decked out in black and gold...even on the shuttle ride in from the parking area. I was careful not to spill anything on their docksiders though...that might piss them off.Gonzo wrote:Unless you're a lactose intolerant recovering alcoholic. Mostly respectful, maybe slightly condescending but not so much that it was offensive. And I've been respectful to their fans, enjoyed good football conversations and usually end up pulling for their team for the rest of the season.
I don't see that happening at UNCheat.
