I would like to congratulate my daughter, Lara, on her acceptance to Appalachian State. Her mother and I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. She only applied to 2 schools because she really only wanted to go to App State. She has been attending football games since she was little (7 I think). She loves App, Boone and everything about the mountains. GO APP!!!!

Sounds like Lara has always been a Mountaineer, now it's just official.

Congratulations to you all.

For those of you that have recent experience with applying to App, does the University have a preference between the ACT or SAT? Back in the day it was just the SAT, but as my son prepares to apply next year, which test do they value more? Thanks

Given that the ACT is given in public schools now in North Carolina I would assume all the universities in North Carolina would be happy to take the ACT score. I doubt they value one test over the other, though taking both would be my suggestion.
