Not certain I can remember a Mountaineer head coach in any sport so completely call an entire team out for lackadaisical play. It has become painfully obvious that Matt Ginipro has a problem on his hands, but I'm pretty confident that giving up on his recruits and calling them out in public isn't the solution.
This could lead to a lot of changes before next season rolls around.

We know that they've been without three of the best players due to injuries and that others players can't practice due to lingering injuries so it has turned into a lost season, but this hints at a breaking point that happened this past weekend. Never heard Matt make these type of comments before, even in his first years with some struggles, he solely blamed himself and the coaching staff.

Could he be hinting that some of the injured players aren't trying their hardest to come back? Or could he be hinting that they are in college to party and have given up?T-Dog wrote:We know that they've been without three of the best players due to injuries and that others players can't practice due to lingering injuries so it has turned into a lost season, but this hints at a breaking point that happened this past weekend. I completely feel his frustrations. It sucks when you are doing your job day in and day out only to have someone that works under you not give their all, which in turn makes it look like you're not doing your fair share...should he have put his whole team on blast to the media and the world? That I don't so much agree with, but I certainly feel his pain and frustrations. He's doing the best he can and it sucks for him that his career, record, and "legacy" is at the mercy of those players.

When the former WBB coach started calling out the players in public is when things began to turn and not turn back. Hopefully he can take care of this for next year.

Trust me, volleyball issues are nowhere near the issues Wbb had. It was a cluster !.

One of my salesmen is an ex college head volleyball and USA VBall coach. I sent this article to him and he quickly responded that these were the exact reasons he got out of the biz (and the parents)
