Re: David Jackson Resigns
not too many years ago (while we were still in the Socon), David and his dad were broadcasting every single game of the basketball tournamant (not just App). I think they did it for several years...talk about taking a toll.

Best wishes in your future endeavors. To me, you will always be "the voice of the mountaineers." Many great things happened during your time in the box and you made them all even better with your calls. THANK YOU!

Bottom line, the best play by play guy in North Carolina. I always enjoy hearing him giving updates on other NFL games while watching the Panthers each Sunday. Guess that's all I get to hear for now on.

Could they not hire this guy for fund raising? I'd up my level if David Jackson asked me.

Re: David Jackson Resigns
I surely hope that DJ reads these posts. David you helped keep my sanity during the football season from 2007 thru 2015. I wasn't able to see the games in person due to health reasons, so I would watch the games on ASU TV or ESPN affiliated stations while listening to the audio broadcasts. I mean the from the bottom of my heart, "I'll miss you the most Scarecrow." Gods speed and prayers for you and your family.

This past season, DJ was the voice on NFL highlights shown in BOA Stadium during Panthers games. It be great if he ended up with the Panthers is some capacity.Rekdiver wrote:David may be more burned out than we realize? The struggle will be if he wants to stay in the play by play business he will be moving from Boone. David could easily handle radio broadcasts for any P5 school, not to mention some Pro teams.

Re: David Jackson Resigns
Wow, not sure what to say. This one stings. I moved to Florida 21 years ago. David was my lifeline to ASU. He used to e-mail me updates and information before we had the website. The in-game live chat feature on our radio site kept a small group of ex-pats connected. I finally met him at a Yosef spring tour when I was visiting my ailing mother in Charlotte. He took the time to talk to me about her illness and we spent some time talking about what mom's mean to their sons. As busy as he was that night, he took the time.
David personifies the term Appalachian "family" in every way. He has been a class act, a great representative of our university and oh yes, an excellent voice of the Mountaineers!.
Good luck David, wishing you all the best!
