I will say one thing about this - Cobb will know for sure which guy was the "lead dog" assistant when we were rolling to 3 National Titles. I always felt like it was a triumvirate of Elliott, Sat, and Galloway, but I wasn't there. While it's not unheard of for an OL Coach to get an HC job, it isn't typical...and at our level, I would just prefer we hire the best candidate.ASUPATCH wrote:Elliot is an Oline coach and a damn good one at that. But Satterfield has been an OC at bothe the FCS and FBS level. To me SS is more qualified and experienced. But I feel Elliott is the better leader. Toss up...cant go wrong either way IMO.
Could do much worse than an alum who has spent the last 3 years under one of the best college coaches of the modern era...and since I think one of our biggest problems is a young, underdeveloped, OL, he might be what we need.
