I understand the frustration, but it was the FIRST HALF. It's more of a sad commentary on our team and/or fans if we think an opposing team should try to not score before a game is even half over, because they are beating us too badly. What is bush league to me is this App team that is getting beaten like a cheap drum. JMO.

I'll give ya that. We absorbed yet another thorough butt whippin' from GaSo. This one makes four in a row and it won't be the last one. They are light years better than we are and they lose only one senior--a reserve. Our guys looked totally lost in space tonight! They were completely unprepared to play defense! That's on our coaches.

Where do we even go from here? This is rock bottom. It's painful to watch as a fan and alum. I mean we do not defend well, shoot well or strategize well. Everybody looks lost.

Well, perhaps Fox should consider looking toward next season. There will be no 2016 tourney appearance for the Apps.

BTW, did anyone listen to his comments on the post-game show? What reaction did he have to the team's effort and execution?

I think the most disappointing aspect of this game and season is our inability to play defense. We just have not been able to stop people all season long. It is hard to see the impact that coaching has had on this team.

The one player who has seemed to show some growth as the season comes to an end is Logan. His shooting touch has improved down the stretch and his command of the game is more noticeable.

Byington should be fired if he does not try to beat his rival by a hundred! We are no better now than in the capel years. We were at least competitive to end the year last year. That was a coaching decision by the way, stop giving passes!

I cant drink the kool aid anymore. The players are bad, but there has been a major decline since Fox's first year.
Ive heard that the seniors arent buying in. Why not? They bought in last year didnt they?
Seems like everyone here wants to blame the players for how they play. We get blown out at the start of almost every game and every second half. That is poor preparation and poor adjustments and that has to start with the coaching staff.
I looked up these stats and I coudn't believe it.

Fox's first 2 seasons: 19-38
Capel's last 2 seasons: 24-37

Not only have we gotten worse since year one and two under Fox, we have gotten worse since Capel left. Never knew that would be possible

There is no way we will recruit big time players to such a bad program that gets zero support, except from the administration. We are not going to see any improvement in this program, or any of our spring sports for years.

I think Fox has been looking forward to next season for close to 4 months now. Starting 2 freshman and a sophomore for the majority of this season, you will have moments like last night.

His comments were not too hateful. Check my twitter feed from last night for the highlights. Fox wants Griffin Kinney to become more of a leader, and reiterated how important it is to have a crowd behind you.

OK, I "get" your first comment; I just don't happen to agree with it. How many times over the years have we seen Jim Brakefield, then Sparky Woods, then Jerry Moore and now Scott Satterfield walk their respective teams toward the field house at KBS with 25 or 30 seconds on the second qtr clock and at least a reasonable chance of completing a long pass; and calling a TO to set up a FG attempt in an effort to run up the score. A couple of dozen times among those four gentlemen head coaches.

In Byington's case, our coffin was already wax sealed and nailed shut. That extra nail was meant to be an insult to Coach Fox, our team and everything that is App State. I still don't appreciate it one bit.

Now, care to explain your second comment? Coaching decision? Giving passes? Huh?

Roy Boy called a time out when they were 30 ahead of Miami and all the Triangle radio stations could talk about were "coaching moments" and the fact that "you can't take those time outs to the next game with you." That's not a rivalry game.

I'm not upset about the half time buzzer beater. We suck. We were going to get beaten by as many as the Stink wanted.

Well as I see it we had 7 of 8 returning starters from a team that was at least competitive in sunbelt play last year. A coaching decision was made to start the freshmen this year correct?

Watched the GS-GSU game on Tuesday night and Byington and GS did the exact same thing. Called the timeout, hit the three before the half. They won that game by two. I see nothing wrong with it. Its our job to stop them. We didn't.

Very despondent. Said we got punched in the mouth and didn't respond. I think the anger from early in the game had long-since worn off.

I was mad about GS continually shooting 3's late in the game, walk-ons or not.

Big difference, Thugs (under Capel) vs Student Athletes (under Fox)

*** I would rather go 0-30 vs 30-0 with student athletes vs trouble maker athletes that make App State look bad. Even today people make jokes about Miami's football program for the thugs they had in the 80s. Once you have that rep, it will always stick with you.

Capel didn't leave Fox with hardly anything but a walk on from Ashe county. Buzz left Capel with a team that had a much deeper roster. Still can't believe we let Fancher go for this disaster piece.
