We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
I'm not able to make the playoff game due to obligations, but am watching the game on ESPN3. Students are leaving the game early once again - right before half-time is starting (as we're charging down the field). IT IS THE FREAKING PLAYOFFS!!! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?? We need fans to stay and support the team - not Klondike.
I'm pro FBS move, but have real concerns that these students won't even make it past the first quarter (and other so-called "fans" that leave early) if we struggle with bigger FBS opponents.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
seems everyone has this problem, I was on the rivals site and the topic of students attendence came up. An Alabama fan said that the students do not attend Bama games like they should, and a Ohio State fan said lack of attendence by the students, has caused such great concern with the administration, they are trying to find a way to get them to the games. I guess even the big boys are having problems.

From the sound of the crowd at the end, you couldn't tell anybody left early.yosef03 wrote:I'm not able to make the playoff game due to obligations, but am watching the game on ESPN3. Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
you got to take into account that playoff games are not planed out till a week or two before they happened. But if you call out the students you got to call out all the people on the guest side that didn't show up at all or the hill.
Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
I thought the students were great. I was disappointed with overall attendance though. Why do we average 28k during the season and have less then 17k today. It's the playoffs!!!! This is the game that should be sold out

I'm sorry, I understand you had obligations of some sort and couldn't come to the game... but, you can't bitch about the fans at the game if you're sitting on your couch at home.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
People leaving early has got to be the most insignificant topic to complain about today. The fans were great and very loud. We caused two false starts late in the fourth quarter when we needed it most. The place was the loudest I've heard it all season. For the record I didn't notice many fans leaving early.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
student support is the least of our problems. I could be remembering wrong but I believe I read that we average ~14K students per game. We have 17K students. That's pretty GD good. Also from where I was sitting the student section on the west side was almost full the whole game and very loud as usual. Hey Idiots....Stop being stupid!!

Noway we have 14,000 student average at the games out of 17,000 students at ASU. We have a lot for sure, but no where near 14,000.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
I'm sick of a bunch of old people complaining on here about students leaving early. Hardly any did (I was sitting on the opposite side and could see it was always mostly full), but at least they were there to begin with. The alum/general admission seats were very sparsely filled. Maybe you should figure out what demographic you need to complain to the most; ones that might show up and leave early, or the ones that don't bother to show at all for a playoff game they supposedly love so much

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
I heard David Jackson report that number last year some time. It sounded amazing to me as well. It may have been a single game number, as I said I could be wrong. Anyway, I still say student support is not an issue.AppState89 wrote:[quote="appbio91" we average ~14K students per game. We have 17K students. That's pretty GD good.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
I agree with you that student support isn't a problem. Really never has been. Today, the students were there....the regs weren't there at all. The Duncan lot was missing a lot of cars today. For the love of God, I don't get why we will have 28,000 regular season, but off over 10,000 during playoffs. Winston Salem State was the only game being played in NC today (the ACC Championship game doesn't count. If ASU regulars went there instead, hmmmmmm)...appbio91 wrote:I heard David Jackson report that number last year some time. It sounded amazing to me as well. Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
The problem was two fold. There was a mass exodus of students at the end of the first quarter. Why waste your time walking up to the stadium for 15 minutes of football? Second issue was alumni and season ticket holders didn't show up at all. I sit in the gold section just under the club seats. Our section was maybe 1/3 full. And our section runs from 35-35 yard lines. Embarrassing to say the least.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
The university should plant a tall row of evergreens that hide the exit path to the stadium lot. Then maybe we could get everyone to concentrate on the field instead of the people leaving. We should worry about what we have not what we don't.
PS I thought the students did great yesterday.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
Students show up to playoff games. It's the older folkes that don't.
If seeing a few of them leave early bothers you, I'd hate to see you react to the thousands of students that go to Raley to tailgate and never actually go into the game.

Re: Hey Students... STOP LEAVING EARLY
It doesn't bother me if anyone leaves. I think it happens everywhere. As it has been pointed out to me, our stadium is built in a way we can see people leaving and so it gets noticed more often. The evergreen comment was just sort of tounge in cheek. I thought the fourth quarter was as loud as I have heard the stadium this year.
