We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: MBB at Georgia Southern, Tuesday Feb. 25th 7pm
The zone hurt us. Their guards were taking the zone beyond 3 point line. The move to have Tate to flash to FT line (that was open) was the right move versus him floating around 6 feet beyond 3 pt line. He just missed some shots. It is really not Huntley game to flash to FT line, quick turn and shoot. If we see them in tourney.and they play zone, I would rather see that option as they were not allowing Tate to drive as they would double team him on the perimeter in their zone.

Certainly not finishing strong.
Too many scoring droughts, too many missed free throws, too many missed easy shots.
At some point, App has to fix the free throw issue, it’s embarrassing.

We really struggle if we don't have both Hundley and Tate on their game. Its hard to win when you only have two players that can make significant contributions. The inconsistency of play has become too much to overcome down the stretch. The team continues to give effort though.
Tournament play is a different setting and we've seen this team put together a stretch of good games. Have to rest our hat on that hope.

Those aren’t the same situations. Marsh didn’t want to do what he was asked. And he was a Freshman, not a Senior.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 9:16 pmIronic huh?311neers wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 9:06 pmBut he ran Marsh off for doing that?Seattleapp wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 9:05 pmI would like to know if kerns has just told Tate to shoot as much as he can to win the game for us. I think we're seeing fatigue set in. Three games in six days with an OT game and long road trip aren't helping, but that's the kind of thing they have to figure out if they want to win next week. Tate is our only guard consistently scoring right now, but even he has had been off the last two games. We need the extra time off after Friday to rest up and refocus.

Marsh is averaging 19 & 4 at Asheville. Perhaps he was being asked the wrong thing? We sure could have used another scoring guard this year! Was it a situation of Kerns not wanting to fit Marsh into the system correctly or Marsh not wanting to fit in correctly? Some of us know the truth.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 7:46 amThose aren’t the same situations. Marsh didn’t want to do what he was asked. We were a better team with Marsh. Kerns’ ego got the best of him.

I was not there but you have told the story enough times that everyone knows when it happened. Your question and Kerns’ answer were involving the NIT matchup against Wake. This does not mean that Kerns did or did not run Marsh off.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:54 amWere you there when I was talking to Kerns? Give me an ultimatum and you are gone. There is no “ I” in team. He wasn’t the first and likely not the last given the times we live in.

Re: MBB at Georgia Southern, Tuesday Feb. 25th 7pm
The bottom line is that Marsh would not do what he was asked to do. A coach cannot allow that to happen and hold a team together. It’s quite clear that you are pro player and love to pile on the coaches when they hurt your feelings by not doing what you think needs to be done to be successful. If you knew as much as you think that you do then you would know and understand why he is gone.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 12:18 pmI was not there but you have told the story enough times that everyone knows when it happened. Re: MBB at Georgia Southern, Tuesday Feb. 25th 7pm
I will just say where I am is complicated.....Never thought we would see a winning season this season after all that we lost. Very proud of the group we assembled and Kerns ability to get them to play together and win this many games.
I am very pro Kerns, I am also pro players. Where I am struggling is what I also see is fatigue. We are better than this and some guys aren't playing the minutes they were playing during our most successful part of the season.
My solution (part of this I have said for 3 years) is to slide Huntley to the 3. We don't have really anyone there now! I would use Marcus much more at the 4 and go big.
Guards: Tate, Connors, Dodd supporting those 2
Big men: Beaubrun, Wilson and Marcus
SF: Huntley, with Threadgill and maybe Muttelieb getting some very small minutes.
Then we can go 9 deep, but keeping Huntely and Tate the center of the rotation and keeping everyone else more fresh.
We are very fortunate to have such size...Imagine the mismatches we could present.

Re: MBB at Georgia Southern, Tuesday Feb. 25th 7pm
In his six years as App's coach, Kerns' teams are 22-21 in February. If you exclude last year's 8-1 record in February, his teams are 14-20 and usually finish losing three out of the last four games. The year we won the SBC Tourney, we finished losing four of our last five (which perhaps should give us some hope this season). We are 13-4 in February the last two seasons but in his previous four seasons to that we never finished above .500 in the month and were 9-17 overall.

Shooting looks tired , from the guys that can shoot or have shown the ability. A lot of minutes. Long bus rides to Statesboro now turn around tomorrow and head to Huntington . We probably end up sixth giving us a week off. If we can get our legs back we can win a game or two. More than that will be tough given the format. I’m headed to Pensacola midweek to maximize seafood opportunities and support the team.

Dodd and Connors haven't really done much consistently as far as scoring goes and you can't depend on Tate and Huntley to carry the load alone.
Biggest disappointment is Harcum packing for Murray State. Think he would have made a huge difference for us this year. Consistent scoring threat and a good FT shooter. I can see Abson and Spillers bolting for the cash but to lose a guy to Murray State? Not sure how that happens.
