And if Pollard jumps to Virginia. Gets so close at Duke each year.
Does Virginia improve his odds of reaching Omaha?
Given how many times they've been and I imagine UVA spends more on baseball than Duke, I'd say it might increase his odds.
I don’t think Duke has been to Omaha since 1960s. Doesn’t mean he can’t but it’s the afterthought at Duke. I mean, their stadium is high school ish still, even though they’re renovating.

Pollard to UVA might be a done deal. If so, that was quick.

Josh Jordan to Duke? That would be wild.

Had some pretty good ECU transfers over the last few years, hopefully this is another.

Don’t know much about him. Hope he works out and gets our staff headed in the right direction!

We could definitely do worse. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do.

If I read stats correctly. Over 5 era in 2025. Under 4 era in 2024. Not sure if the changes in staff compliment. Were they a younger group? Did they have a few studs last year that went the way if nil.
I know EasyU did not have a typical EasyU year.
If they had not won conference tournament, I do not believe they would have made a regional. Just my opinion.

I'm hopeful but also remember ECU gets a a totally different tier of player than APP. How much did he work with the players? Even know his title was DOPD - what was his role. Was he truly hands on or a glorified staffer?

I'm hoping he's a teacher of pitching.

Coastal beats Arizona to move on ang Oregon State tomorrow. As to our new pitching coach I’m told it’s an improvement but the bar was very low. Staff is on the hot seat .

You may very well be right; the Pirates did hit a hot streak at the right time. Regardless, Cliff Godwin’s ability to draw high-quality staffers is key to ECU’s success. I could be wrong, but that’s a big reason why this pickup gives me confidence.
