NC has a couple kids (I believe he just had another one, right?) and setting his family up and taking care of them is what a man does. No company or school will have unending loyalty to me as an employee, so I’m gonna get mine while I can. I’m glad Cardwell is in a position where he can do the same.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 10:55 pmAny one of us 5 or 10 years into our careers would have been hard pressed to turn down a career move doubling your salary, upgrading your profile and going to work for someone you previously worked for and probably liked(ie Satt). My wife would have already had my bags packed.
Are you crazy? Dude is moving up the career ladder. Looks like a great move if you are in his shoes.![]()

Re: Cardwell gone
I really hope his motivation is not as you say above "He probably tired of reading that some of you always questioned his coaching ability and how we needed a real OL coach" because a decision to move to a P5, especially Louisville is only going to put him under more scrutiny and possible criticism. What goes along with the more money is higher expectation and a greater degree of scrutiny. I am sure Nic understands this and know your comment was tongue and cheek but our coaches have to know that this is par for the course in the profession they have chosen. It is not for the weak hearted.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 11:27 amHe probably tired of reading that some of you always questioned his coaching ability and how we needed a "real OL coach" - No, I know that is not the reason but personally I got tired of reading it even though our OL group was in the final 15 for the best OL in college for what, last 3 years???
I have always believed it is fair game to provide an opinion with positive/negative critique of the coaching jobs as long as it is in good taste and doesn't get nasty. The opinions can be positive and negative, that should be okay as it is merely an opinion. I never have agreed that negative criticism is totally off limits, so long as it is provided in good faith and good taste with the intention that it will make us better. We can then also critique our fans' opinions as reasonable or absurd. That is part of the whole deal with coaches, players and fans.

The OC will be hired 1st. The OL coach will be 2nd.
On campus interviews this weekend with a few candidates. Tulane - former Cincy OL coach - one former NFL guy.

Soon-ish. My understanding is Clark has done preliminary interviews and narrowed down the list some. Now, he wants Barbay involved for the final say in the hire.

The current Cincy Oline coach was with Barbay at CMU. Is that the one that interviewed?
