USC fans are coping with their OC loss by saying the reason for their mid-season improvement is Shula started calling the plays. From that lens, it makes sense.ericsaid wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 8:10 pmThey want Mike Shula? Most are Panthers fans, right? I wouldn’t want Shula within 120 miles of Boone. The fact they want him in at USC is hilarious.
I think most have an issue that you are Team Clark no matter the state or direction the program is heading with him at the Helm. And make it sound like App is doomed because we let go of a former App guy. If we are doomed it’s because the cupboard is bare and winning mentality has left the program. Past 3 years: 16-17 the against FBS competition. 1 bowl game. 0-3 against Coastal. 1-2 against Marshall. 1-2 against Georgia Southern. Smoked by S Alabama at home. It was time to make a change. You may have some connections, but people don’t appreciate you for that because you take backhanded swipes about the program being doomed for getting rid of Clark, when if anything, he would be the catalyst for the alleged doom.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 8:23 pmI been TeamClark forever andyosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 8:03 pmAt what point is enough enough with this snake? I did NOT start the Fire Gillin thread.
So how am I the snake?
You are pissed about your new coach hire and mad at me, just admit it.
If DG made 1 offer that's someone in admin leaking that so they don't make themselves look bad, means that got told NO in preliminary talks with Brown, Woods etc. DG knows he can tell his posse we got our first offer, I actually posted that yesterday also. Everything I predict is coming true during this week.
No No No, I started a post after the USA loss and expressed time for a change -- go back and look, it was the beginning of the end for me. This unit wasn't recovering from that.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 11:30 amI think most have an issue that you are Team Clark no matter the state or direction the program is heading with him at the Helm. That App may have wanted other candidates but didn't offer because they knew the offer wouldn't be accepted. So the idea that this was App's one offer, top of the board, top shelf, can be sold to fans even if it's a lie. This screams "donor pick" to me.
App just made the same mistake Troy made. Troy brought in a guy that Notre Dame fans wanted fired. App just brought in a guy that was demoted from his primary responsibility. Wouldn't even schedule an interview with Tre Lamb who was right over the mountain and who ended up getting hired by Tulsa.appvette wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 9:53 amUSC fans are coping with their OC loss by saying the reason for their mid-season improvement is Shula started calling the plays. What. A. Joke.
In 2 years, if this looks as bad as it seems it's going to look, Gillin has to go. He got lucky with inheriting Satterfield, and then he picked a guy who just didn't scew up in Drinkwitz. Then he hired Clark and now this guy who has never been around winning football teams as a coordinator. The one time he began doing alright, he was demoted from his primary responsibility.
WTF is happening to App football right now?
When you can't argue the point, you attack the person making the point. Make the case as to why Kenny Loggins was a better hire than Tre Lamb? Why Kenny Loggins was so good, you don't even call Tre Lamb to get him to come over the mountain?Seattleapp wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:33 pmHave you found a home to rent in Tulsa yetericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:29 pmApp just made the same mistake Troy made. And "Lamb just hasn't won enough" and "will be around in a few years".
He just can’t see the vision because he is 33 and Loggains is 44. He and Tre lamb are both 33. Don’t you know?Seattleapp wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:33 pmHave you found a home to rent in Tulsa yetericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:29 pmApp just made the same mistake Troy made. I heard Lamb was among names of interest early but some issues popped up that Gillin wanted to avoid. Not sure if true and surely if so Tulsa was not worried about it. It could be that Gillin decided to get someone with NFL experience because college is becoming more like the NFL.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:29 pmApp just made the same mistake Troy made. Take it easy man. DOTE knows everything and is right about everything. We should be grateful that he is sharing his wisdom with all of us!
I'm sorry, but stop acting like a child who didn't get his way. You've stated your support for Lamb and disdain for Loggains. You are certainly entitled to your opinion but how many times are you going repeat the same argument. I would suggest we wait and see what happens before we assume the worst. You can stomp your feet all you want but that's not going to change a thing at this point.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:37 pmWhen you can't argue the point, you attack the person making the point. Many people here, and elsewhere, said "he will be there in a few years. We will wait and see". I can imagine many decision makers thought the same thing. If that's the case, it shows how out of touch with observing potential talent they are. If this turns out how I expect it to - similar to Troy in 2024 - you will come back to this, and a tear will escape your eye.
You can think it's a ridiculous take all that you want but Gillin's political capital is almost used up here. If this hire fails, Gillin will be, and should be, gone.
