Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
If Neal Brown we should only give him a one year contract. The new "College Football" is a one year build and play league now. No reason to give 5 year contract. It is either done in two or it is not getting done.
Another Thought.
Casey woods is named. We should reach out to Mack Brown and I am sure Sparky would be giving advice and what I really like about this hire is Mack and Sparky probably have some rich acquaintances in the Boone area that they might find to be fun to build their Hobby/NFL "light" franchise with. I could see Mack being mad enough at UNCheat right now to want to make sure they are not the premier football school in the state and word is he likes the high country. I think you get a lot of intangibles with Casey.

I like Casey Woods as well. And, while your idea is a fun and interesting one, that ain't never gonna happen.spacemonkey wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 1:29 amIf Neal Brown we should only give him a one year contract. If Neal Brown turns it down........ DG has to be offering his 2nd choice by today if he wants BOT approval this weekend.... I wonder if someone on Army's staff is in the mix, ranked all year, App ties, defense mantra.
And here we go.
Can't wait to report on the details for all my cabin bros!

Why not go with Drew Cronic since he built LR and Mercer into winners before Jacobs replaced him? You could easily argue Jacobs rode Cronic's coattails at both schools.ASUPATCH wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 7:17 pmId be down with Mike Jacobs. That's a fair response. But, that still doesn't answer the question. What excites you (whoever cares to answer) about Neal Brown?
If we are a premier G5 program (we are), shouldn't excitement be a part of the hire? Sounds like we are filling a role for a CPA at this point.
Who would be the names that you feel would generate excitement?
Haven’t seen anyone talk about Mercers coach in a while.

Both have had success anywhere they have been. I would want to go back and look at each teams rosters and see if any left with coaches and how many seniors left and such.JTApps1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 8:47 amWhy not go with Drew Cronic since he built LR and Mercer into winners before Jacobs replaced him? There’s prime real estate on King Street across from the art museum for a coach named Cronic.

I heard it could be Tanner Jackson. Former Student Assistant @App now working at South Carolina. He is a great man and would likely hire back Connor Coker as his EQ manager.

I’m hearing from reliable sources that Connor Coker is the pivotal figure in this search. His EQ manager skills go beyond our capabilities and understanding.

Tanner and Connor could create the perfect scenario for App to rebuild. They also might bring in help of Naz who was a legend in the building under Drink.311neers wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 11:05 amA 25 year old?
