Sorry guys, you lose this game. We are not the same team as last year. Your run game get shut down and our speed off the edge will crush your QB. In short, a long day for App State. Drive safe for those coming up. Go Herd
Unless you guys have some edge speed that is faster than that found at both Carolina's, I think our Oline can hold up. Honestly, can't think of a game in which our current QB has been crushed by edge rushers with any consistency, or our run game was shut down. Might want to take a look at the stats, we are always in the top percentage of rushing yards and fewest sacks allowed.
"In each of its first six FBS seasons, App State ranked in the top 25 nationally in rushing yards per game AND fewest sacks allowed. Shawn Clark was the line coach for the last four years, including 2018 and 2019 seasons when the group was recognized as a top-15 FBS line by the Joe Moore Award."-- media game notes for this game
Our Oline is a very seasoned group with 4 returning starters, so sounds like it should be strength on strength. You clearly like your edge speed and I will take our Oline. One of us will be upset at the results but hopefully all will enjoy the renewal of this rivalry. During my time at App, this game always mattered the most with that damn Furman squad coming in second.
