Re: Graduation Day 2025
We took one off the payroll as well last Saturday- graduated from NCSU and has a great job already! Hallelujah!! One more and we get an immediate pay raise! NCSU is the other daughter's alma mater. As we were leaving Reynolds (second of his graduations Saturday) I told my wife, now I never want to ...

Re: Gillin said we're gonna play Western in football soon
There are some alumni here in York County, SC who are trying to organize an alumni chapter here. Waiting on it to get off the ground but it's still early.

I had to miss this year in CLT. Who from the staff was there? How was the crowd?

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Don't feel bad for Joey. He is going to make 1M to sit on bench, if he stays at UCLA and that is 1M more than he would have made had he pursued the NFL. https://x.com/On3sports/status/1912612318246039742 Hopefully he has a signed contract from the NIL collective I told a friend yesterday and I'll s...

Re: Question: App State sports as or vs ranked teams
After seeing the post about womens tennis getting a win versus a ranked opponent (congrats to the ladies), I got to thinking about all App teams histories with national rankings at the top level (FBS for football, and post 1971 D1 for everyone else) and thought it would be more interesting here tha...

Re: NCSU in Boone 2028
While I like the idea of ACC schools coming to KBS I am not going to become all giddy and shickled titless just because NCSU is supposed to come up the mountain. We don't need to play any of the ACC blue bloods to validate our team and school but I do think playing them and keeping the money in Nort...

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
To DOTE you said and I quote: "The budget should be Bigger now, because the school has grown the student body, alumni base, etc etc. That has to do with population not who the AD is. Population drives Donations/Budgets." We now have around 150,000+ alumni. The student body has grown which in turn h...

Re: NIL or Yosef Club?
Just my $0.02 worth but any monies that I give will go to the YC since they 1) benefit all sports and 2) the YC contributes to the AFAA. I don't want my money going to players who may/may not be around after 6 months or to "rent" players for a season.

I never applied there, never wanted to. If my grandmother knew I'd applied or even rooted for them she'd cut me out of the will forthwith!

Re: DJ Smith DC
I'm excited to see DJ back on campus and on the staff. I wonder where all the nay-sayers who said hiring Shawn Clark was a "lazy hire" and that we stuck with the "good ol' boy" network are now. Crickets.... Apples and oranges. I repeat I like the hire but: Clark: Mountaineer and multiple venues of ...

Re: Maybe DG is is more forward thinking than we realized.
We will be working with significantly more funds this summer when we’re able to allocate ~20% of athletics revenue to paying athletes. Will be interesting to see how our department handles that. Yep, that will be interesting to see how that plays. With that said, we need a sugar daddy to give us $1...

Re: Transfer Portal 2024/2025
I've said it, others have said, and I'll continue to say it even though those bundles of brains in the NCAA will not make this change: you get ONE free transfer. One. Uno. Each subsequent transfer includes one year sitting out.

Re: Fire Gillin
True, but if this one doesn’t work out I’d wager he’ll be a fall guy. DG has done much more postive than negative during his tenure and arguably the best AD we’ve had in the last 30+ years. Saint I'm with you. DG's hiring record so far has been pretty dang good so it's time to give the man some sup...
