Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
It's becoming more apparent that the ball has been dropped. The link from Ohio should be forwarded to the right folks in the sports office. It may be too late for this year, but we have to learn from this for future reference. I am very thankful that App74 picked up the ball, but he should not have had to.
I understand the economics of it all, but it sure appears that the awesome supportive students and average fans, who stood out in some nasty weather to cheer on the team all season have been badly overlooked, if not completely disregarded. It seems hypocritical to ask fans to pay $35 for a ticket they can get for $15 to "support the school" and then do nothing but overcharge them again for a travel "package" much higher than they could put together themselves. There should be options available for big spenders, penny pinchers, and especially students. I really don't want to be critical either, and I guess we'll give a first-year hall pass, but we HAVE to correct this glaring mistake in the future.

If I were the AD I would see about a bus from Charlotte right for a down and back and see what the interest is............

As of this morning, the bus was full. I believe App74 is keeping a waiting list while he's confirming everyone who committed.

I have been to a few games at Ohio, you can buy tickets on game day for $10 to $5.00 at the gate.
They have been in this game, BBS, for a long time.
However I applaud Steve for helping us go to the bowl game, I am looking forward to going to the game myself now.
We will learn as we go, we will make better arrangements next year. Give the staff a chance. Experience counts and they have done a fine job thus far.

If you are riding the bus please read the email that App 74 sent to you regarding the tickets and pick up, he has offered to pick up our tickets in Boone to avoid the $25.00 mailing fee.

Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
If they did this, I would drive from Raleigh to catch it. Otherwise, will be watching from home. Other weekend commitments are keeping me from making it a muli-day trip.Rekdiver wrote:If I were the AD I would see about a bus from Charlotte right for a down and back and see what the interest is............

Hey 74, how many folks do you have on a waiting list? Curious if there's enough interest in potential second bus or minibus / 25 passenger...

AppDawg or App74, looking for space for 2 on a bus or van. Thanks! Please keep us posted if another opens up.

Re: Charter Bus to Camellia Bowl - RESERVATIONS
Unfortunately, I don't have a bus lined up. Hopeful for a single seat to open up, but not looking likely - and tix are probably slim pickin's at this point. Had '74 indicated there were 10-15 on his wait list, I may have pursued a 2nd bus.LibrarianCrys wrote:AppDawg or App74, looking for space for 2 on a bus or van. Thanks! Is it too late to set up arrangements for another bus? Already have ordered tickets.
