Bus Trip To The Bowl Game
Has anyone heard from the university or elsewhere about a bus trip being put together to the bowl game? Someone organized one from Charlotte to the Georgia game and it worked out great. If we end up playing on the 23rd, this might be a great way to go, head down early morning on the 23rd and come back after the game.
This might be the only way a lot of us will be able to go due to this game being played on the 23rd. I, like most, would want to be home by noon on Christmas Eve.
This would be a good idea if we end up playing on the 19th too.

Re: Bus Trip To The Bowl Game
If it's Go Daddy, I like the idea of coming back through the night on a charter bus. This beats driving out at 6 a.m. after a few hours sleep and still getting back around dark on Christmas Eve.
I wouldn't mind the bus going down early on the 22nd and incorporating a one night hotel stay, so we could enjoy the parade, pep rally, and a few of the festivities.
We'll see.

I know they are working on a charter flight to the bowl game, not sure about a land package. That would work best for the Camellia Bowl.

Great idea Robert. I also like the idea of one night in the hotel, but would settle for the bus trip.AppState89 wrote:Has anyone heard from the university or elsewhere about a bus trip being put together to the bowl game? Surely if Old Dominion can sell 12000 football season tickets we can fill up at least one charter bus to our first bowl game ever.

If anybody knows this guy, dial him up. I believe he also arranged the trip to Richmond in the playoffs a few years ago.

Hello Mountaineers! 2013 Football season is upon us and that means one thing...it's time for a bus trip. After a one year absence we have secured a bus for the trip down to Athens on 11/9/13. Details:
When: 11/09/13
Where: Athens, GA
Bus Origination: Park Road Shopping Center in Charlotte, NC (possible stop in Greenville/Spartanburg depending on interest)
Kickoff: TBD, but likely an early game, which means a departure prior to 7am
Cost: $35/person
If you would like a seat please email me (cjetton@cchrealtors.com) your name and cell phone number and the same information for any others in your party. Thanks and GO MOUNTAINEERS!

I really like that idea better. If I had time, I would put this type of package together for App Nation, but I don't. I believe we could fill up one bus easy.MAD Doctor wrote:If it's Go Daddy, I like the idea of coming back through the night on a charter bus. I would be interested in a bus trip to GoDaddy Bowl if it is the one that invites us.

Re: Bus Trip To The Bowl Game
I started asking questions on this yesterday. If I am going to get to go to a bowl, it has to be a down and back.
Can't do much until we know where we are going. This is what I have been told so far:
GoDaddy (Mobile) A down and back right after the game is not possible. The round trip distance exceeds what two drivers can do without 8 hours of rest.
Cure (Orlando) A down and back is possible. For reference (I only have one quote), the cost is $4460 for a full service coach with restroom, DVD, WiFi. The coach holds 55 people so that equates to $81 each.
Once again, can't do much until we know the destination.

The GoDaddy is possible if there are a set of drivers who can make the return trip. I have been on a charter trip before where the return drivers were different from the first pair.

Re: Bus Trip To The Bowl Game
Checked on that trip today. Down and back the same day out of Winston-Salem with a stop in Charlotte, a full service coach with restroom, DVD, WiFi runs just under $80 per person for 55 seats. This is about the same as Orlando. I plan to get additional quotes.appst89 wrote:Anybody considering a bus trip to Montgomery?
If 55 will come together, I am willing to do this unless the University itself has a plan. Still need to wait for an official announcement.
