Re: See you Thursday
I can't miss a second Thursday (last year of law school) and I have a big trial on Friday. I can't go. I feel dirty and ashamed.
I've instructed my buddies to compensate for my absence by wearing jorts, wielding my App flag, and yelling louder than they thought they could.

6 seats in 205 will be there and will be LOUD. Leaving school early on Thursday, can't miss any tailgating! Might be a long morning on Friday!

Will be there in spirit! Went to GS game and planning to go to what ever bowl we get. It's a long drive from Wilmington and we just can't make them all. We'll have to settle for TV but we've already warned neighbors not to be worried about all the noise coming from our house
Thursday night!!

Re: See you Thursday
ASU84, if you decide to go, don't buy tickets. I have two you can have. Just PM and we'll try to figure out how to get them to you.ASU84 wrote:My wife and I both work 24 hour shifts in emergency services and we both have to be at work Friday morning for another 24 hour shift. For those that know about emergency service work(i.e. firefighter and paramedic) know that sometimes we are on the go for a solid 24 hours. Firemoose and others understand. We already have a babysitter for our special needs child. I am all but ready to pull the trigger on 2 tickets, my better judgement is the only thing preventing me from doing it. So far it is not winning. So I am willing to listen to others who may have reason to show up or not. Let me hear them!

Students need to bring their A game for this one, no question. The bodies will be there, just need to be engaged and understand the magnitude of this moment.
PS, watch out for those pesky protesters. I'm sure they'll be around somewhere.

And I think you'll get it. Just something about a night game in Boone...biggie wrote:Hope a better turn out for Thursday compared to this past Saturday for the students.

Stadium lot at 3pm according to their page. Watch out they have a habit of bumping into your car and then claiming you "ran over them" all the while they try and break your tent your trying to put up. Re: See you Thursday
I just can't make it up from ATL for this one as much as I want to. As a consolation prize I have arranged my Thanksgiving weekend schedule to be in Boone for the ULL game and plan to make the trip to USA as well.

100 and change protesting compared to the THOUSANDS of students that attend the game. Yeah, they're the voice of the people alright.3rd wrote:Stadium lot at 3pm according to their page. Is this a joke? Have we had protesters at our games? If so who are they and what are they protesting?3rd wrote:Stadium lot at 3pm according to their page. Re: See you Thursday
Honestly, I was hoping to have them "engage" me before the GaSo game. They just walked on by. Perhaps they knew I wanted to ask the econ majors among them for a brief explanation of the economic feasibility of their specific proposals. Maybe this will be my lucky week.3rd wrote: Stadium lot at 3pm according to their page. They're not very respectful. I'd hate to see how they'd treat such a kind person such as yourself. We were cussed at and threatened.DaphneUrquhart wrote:Honestly, I was hoping to have them "engage" me before the GaSo game. They just walked on by. We walked over to check it out before the GaSo game and the next thing I know the mics and cameras were in my face. Ended up being on TV, though I didn't give my name. All I basically said was "[student athletic fees] were money well spent, that the fees paled in comparison to other costs college students endure, and I was excited to see us beat Georgia Southern." While I was talking to Channel 9 (for literally like 90 second), one of them came over and yelled at me and threw her literature in my face, which fell to the ground and she didn't pick it up.
And they CLEARLY know nothing of economics. Based on the Facebook group, most of them are social services majors.
