Re: See you Thursday
I'll be there with my usual crew.
I do understand folks who have 1) limited vacation time, 2) limited budgets, and 3) family weekday obligations not being able to make the Thursday night games. For example, I spoke with Bobo Beathard's parents after the game Saturday. Bobo's dad has very limited vacation time. The choice for his last piece of vacation would be this Thursday, the U-La-La game, or Bobo's graduation. They'll be coming for graduation ... the reason Bobo's in school to start with. I have absolutely no problem with that.
I am very fortunate to be able to make both Thursday night games this year. That may not always be the case. Count on me to be as loud as I can be this week.
Go App! Let's go get 'em for the championship!

Re: See you Thursday
My family and I came down from Maryland for the GaSo game. I understand Bobo's family is from Haymarket, VA (I go through there on my way to Leesburg a lot). Anyway, we were on Interstate 81 just north of Lexington and passed a vechicle with App stuff all over it. We gave each other a thumbs up and followed each other almost to 421 off I-77. I told my wife, "They may be Bobo's folks", maybe they were.DaphneUrquhart wrote:I'll be there with my usual crew.

Re: See you Thursday
Just like the GS game the fans within a 2 hour drive are the ones who need to make every effort to be there. Obviously some can't make it, but anyone that doesn't have conflicting plans should be there.

Re: See you Thursday
My son and I will be there. We were at The Rock for the GS game and it was electrifying. If you can make this Thursday's game, I can guarantee one thing, that the students will "knock your socks off." I watched with APP PRIDE how the student body took over the KBS. The students had the bottom sections of the stadium packed by kick-off. And, the level of noise they produced was outrageous. The BOD was at another level. The amazing drum line entertained us at breaks. And the dance team put on a performance that was both complicated and entertaining. And you can't leave out the cheerleaders whose acrobatics were death defying. Hey, this was a game of football. Our student athletes displayed tremendous heart, confronting a formidable foe and winning. What I'm saying is that the students put on SHOW the last Thursday night game and we, alumni and fans, were very fortunate in deed to witness it. If you can make this game, you will be thoroughly entertained by some of the brightest and talented young people this nation has to offer. GO APP STATE!!!!

Re: See you Thursday
I'm there. But I live in Boone so I have no excuse. I certainly understand not being able to come up for both Thursday games if you live off the mountain though. It's a real wallet flattener.
GaSo game was so much fun. Hope this one turns out as good at the end. Should be a small but rowdy crowd. I doubt many people who aren't into it will show up

Re: See you Thursday
My wife and I both work 24 hour shifts in emergency services and we both have to be at work Friday morning for another 24 hour shift. For those that know about emergency service work(i.e. firefighter and paramedic) know that sometimes we are on the go for a solid 24 hours. Firemoose and others understand. We already have a babysitter for our special needs child. I am all but ready to pull the trigger on 2 tickets, my better judgement is the only thing preventing me from doing it. So far it is not winning. So I am willing to listen to others who may have reason to show up or not. Let me hear them!

Firefighter here with a 24 hour shift the next day. I'll be there with one of my shift partners. I'll sacrifice a little sleep to support the team as I feel they sacrifice quite a bit for the sake of our entertainment.ASU84 wrote:My wife and I both work 24 hour shifts in emergency services and we both have to be at work Friday morning for another 24 hour shift. Re: See you Thursday
I scheduled a business trip to meet with clients in both Bristol, VA and Johnson City, TN for Thursday just so my wife couldn't complain when I said I was going to the game before I head back to Raleigh. Dad will be driving in to Boone to meet me for the game. So that 2 more that will be there.

Re: See you Thursday
Our 4 seats in 204 will be full and loud! This is a huge game and our young men deserve to have as many of us FANS there cheering them on!
Re: See you Thursday
Out of my crew of 8 I am the lone survivor able to make it up...
But I'm dragging 4 tag-alongs with me.. Let's keep it loud on Thursday!
