We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Music #beatingadeadhorse
Thursday night I was able to attend my first game at The Rock in almost two years. Im a nightclub DJ and it is nearly impossible to get up the mountain on Saturdays. I had a great time. I sat in the old 111 with many of the same people that were there when I had season tix from 2007-2012.
I have read many complaints on this board about the music between plays. Until Thursday I had figured the complainants were just some old fogies afraid of change. I now have to apologies for my hasty conclusion. As a professional dj/producer I will admit that what I heard was almost unbearable. The sound was distorted, the music played over through whistles (while we were on offense) and it has evolved form major stoppages to between EVERY PLAY! By the third quarter I was ready to leave (After my buzz wore off it was harder to listen to)
Im not complaining about the type of music played (I have to play most of the same stuff tonight), just the delivery and frequency. It felt more like an arena football game than a college game. Rant over.
*Can we mic the band?

I agree with you.
And I did email Doug Gillen...it's unprofessional, hard to get continuity, and the band has been neglected.
I think it's mostly bad timing.

If I could "thank" a million times I would.SLOANASU wrote:Thursday night I was able to attend my first game at The Rock in almost two years. Re: Music #beatingadeadhorse
I will add, it seems the amount of time piped in music is played increases with every game that passes.
The Howard game, there was little to no piped in music. Wyoming, a little more, but expected with the weather. GASO, full bore. Perhaps it was to drown out the GASO pep band.... Perhaps not.
Bottom line, just let the Band of Distinction do their thing!

Agreed. It seems the timing of the piped in music is more the problem than the music itself. Perhaps this is the result of inexperience/indecision by whomever is pushing the button.PhillyApp1 wrote:I want a mix....it's not rocket science.

Perhaps a good starting point as well as a guide would be to use piped in music only during time outs (non-injury), never between plays.

Re: Music #beatingadeadhorse
Why have a band, cheerleaders and fans if we are constantly bombarded with the noise between plays. If the truth was to be known, it's a distraction to our coaches when they are trying to communicate to our players. Let our band and or the visiting teams band do what they are there for. Take the noise and save it for the clubs after the game and let the fans enjoy the game.

I nominate SLOANSASU be hired and given full authority to fix the scoreboard and be in charge of scoreboard music at all ASU games from now on. Pay him whatever he asks. It's worth it.
