Very disappointed in our 3rd down efficiency today. Don't know what happened with Lamb's throwing, but I'm sure it was just an off day. Just goes to show that even when we aren't playing 100% we can still win.

We got lucky today. You wouldn't know it from the score, but we lost this game in most categories. Hill is the real deal.

Rain, rain, and more rain is what was wrong with Lamb's passing.

Very poor and disappointing offense today. Honestly they were better on both sides. Don't know what the problem was.... I'm sure the weather didn't help but still a disappointing showing. Our guys just looked disinterested. But, they found a way to get it done and we're 3-1 so that's what matters. Let's hope we have a strong showing next week before a big game at ULM.

We jumped out with two scores on O and D, but then we went tit for tat with the worst FBS team in America. I don't care what the weather was, we looked like hell.

Georgia Southern looks pretty damn good. I hate to admit it, but they do. Very fast. If we let GSU run on us lime 1 Wyoming RB did, it could get ugly.

No doubt Hill was a beast to bring down once he got two steps. I'm sure the defense isn't looking forward to watching game tape with Woody. With that said, we did a lot of bending without breaking and although Hill ran over us for 200+, they only scored 7 with him in.
The o didn't look consistently good, but give credit for the first and last touches of the first half. And how about that 51 yard FG!
Bottom line is we finish our non-conf schedule at 3-1. Just where we realistically hoped we'd be. It all counts now. Let's dry out and take care of business.

Sound system in the stadium is the worst I have ever heard! It's embarrassing and should be at the top of he list of things that need to be upgraded .

So we win 31-13 with a garbage TD to end the game. Did we really play that bad or are we spoiled fans? I could not watch the entire game, but what I saw just does not deserve some of the posts on here. Yes, a few things concern me, but again 31-13. Enjoy the V that beat the spread until the last minute of the game in clean-up time.

I was at the game and really enjoyed it. But I don't think the end score really reflected the game overall, Wyoming's RB was a beast and almost seemed unstoppable in the first half. Honestly, if the Cowboys didn't screw up the first five minutes of the game, it would have been a little hairier than what it was.

Either way, if and buts, we won, decisively, against a Mountain West team following a victory over a C-USA team. along with the man who masterminded the NDSU dynasty.

Now it's time to turn of focus to ATL and beat the Charlie Cobb Dumpster Fire that is Georgia State.

It's one game, I'm not gonna worry about how our defense will fair against GS In a game that's 3 weeks away.

In other news, Zach Matics nailed a 51 yard field goal in the rain. Complete 180 from last year.

I was at the game too and we were fortunate. The pic 6 was a miscommunication in their receiver.
We got killed on the outside running game.
But a win its a win.
On to next week...

Meanwhile in other news that nobody cares about (although I guess we somewhat need to) NMSU is leading New Mexico 26-14 at the half.

Folks looked at their record and thought this would be a rout. If one looked closer, one would have seen that they have the ability to move the ball. Their QB was a Big Ten passing leader at Indiana and Hill, the RB, has been averaging 100+ yards a game. As is often the case, when we experience a little success our fans seem to get carried away thinking that we will win every game 49-0.

You're right Hap. Most of us (myself included) underestimated this team. Their OL was big and physical, and Hill is a strong runner behind them. I feel like th weather did have more of an impact on our passing game as we throw downfield more while Wyoming throws a lot of short passes. Our off-tackle runs seemed to work the best today instead of the sweeps and counter. There was a noticeable drop off in our running game once Collins went down. I hope he wont be out too long.

At the end of the day we beat Mountain West team when playing well below our best during a downpour. If we play that team 12+ months ago we loose. We've come a long way.

fundamental standpoint, probably the worst game we played all season, a lot of arm tackling, guys out of position, defensive line couldn't shed the blockers. Offense, not much better, team as a whole, seemed flat. But, the good news is, your going to have games like this during the season, you just hope you come out on top. I almost feel sorry for GS next week.
