Redshirt Rubino?
I know that he "just a kicker" but considering the fact that Matics appears to have a hold on the place kicking duties (and is doing great) why would the team not red shirt Rubino? Seems odd to burn a year of eligibility for nothing. Can't he be reshirted then, if necessary, yank the shirt later?
Re: Redshirt Rubino?
ya, kinda thought the same thing, unless he brings something to the table Matics doesn't, ie: better at long distance field goal, or maybe SS just wants the added security that if something happens to Matics in a game, although unlikely, that he has Rubino ready to go.

Re: Redshirt Rubino?
Rubino can be dressed for every game in case they do need him, but as long as he doesn't take a snap (or kick off), he can still be redshirted at the end of the season.

Re: Redshirt Rubino?
Has Rubino played yet? If not, why are we assuming he won't be redshirted? Or am I misreading the first couple comments?

I guess I didn't understand how it works. So he can dress every game but if he doesn't actually play he can still be red shirted at the end of the year?
