We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

I'm loving the branding efforts. The more our Block A gets used properly, the better we'll be recognized off the mountain.

Re: New graphics @ KBS
Big C took this picture around lunch.
I stopped by during practice around 5 pm and they were putting up the lettering on the West Side. There's similar branding at the soccer field with the wind screens and there's more to come with volleyball and the winter/spring sports.
They're not just some thin plastic decals. They're thick and heavy letters being drilled into the wall, so they'll last a while.

9 almost 8 more days boys. I am excited. There is just something special about football in Boone that many will never understand.

P.s. love the changes. Chances we get black end zones back?

Re: New graphics @ KBS
The best part of this is KBS will have a whole new look with a pretty minimum expense. These little improvements will all add up to make a big difference. I can't wait to see it in person.
Re: New graphics @ KBS
going to look wonderful on tv, funny what new blood with a fresh perspective can do, I would have never thought of this, best thing its cost effective but it makes the stadium look great.

Re: New graphics @ KBS
I spoke to someone recently while in the athletic center looking down at the field who said that Doug Gillin's office has that view and every day he looks down and thinks of things that can improve the aesthetic and experience of KBS. Things like the graphics on the walls (that, regardless of graphics, have needed to be power washed for a decade), he wants a better scoreboard on the field house and the steps needing to be painted (you can see it on the practice review videos). These are all little things that CC ignored or didn't care about.
I'm not going to start an anti-CC rant because that's the past. But I do think it speaks volumes that Mr. Gillin has already made a big difference visually by just paying attention to detail.

Exactly. Re: New graphics @ KBS
I know we donated the old video board to WHS, and probably got a pretty penny in tax write offs for it, but I always thought we missed an opportunity to move that video board to the top of the field house. It certainly wasn't a bad piece of equipment...I was already paid for.

Re: New graphics @ KBS
I love the new graphics, and I agree it was needed, especially this year when we've 2 games on national TV. I would move the current video board to the top of the field house and install and even bigger board on the side of the mountain. Nestle a big 16:9 LED screen among the trees and use the natural backdrop. Maybe not Auburn big, but EZU big at least. Video is great, but the audio needs a serious kick in the pants. Not only depth of low end, and greater volume capacity, but a real gifted audio engineer needs to voice out the system for clarity.
Of course this all takes money, but something to aim for.

Re: New graphics @ KBS
I'd like to move the video behind the temporary bleachers to get it closer to the field and point those speakers towards the south endzone and hill (could help hide the eyesore that is Owens) and add full length ribbon boards on both sides (portions used for scores, down/distance/etc.).
The downside would be no one would want to sit in the temporary bleachers due to the noise level.

The University would fall under the non-profit arm of taxation. Therefore, the "pretty penny in tax write offs" you mention is a non-issue.APPdiesel wrote:I know we donated the old video board to WHS, and probably got a pretty penny in tax write offs for it, but I always thought we missed an opportunity to move that video board to the top of the field house. I do understand the logic of repurposing older but still usable equipment though.

Looks great. Love the additions.
Now we just need to remove the big orange eyesore and we'll look good on TV.

Great pic, the wall looks 1,000 times better.

Re: New graphics @ KBS
The only issue with that could be when we expand we'd likely have to move it again. Hopefully we could find a way to improve KBS in stages yet with one master plan in place.Saint3333 wrote:I'd like to move the video behind the temporary bleachers to get it closer to the field and point those speakers towards the south endzone and hill (could help hide the eyesore that is Owens) and add full length ribbon boards on both sides (portions used for scores, down/distance/etc.).

For audio we need to put speakers throughout the stadium instead of just having them at one end with the scoreboard. At the very least add an equal number of speakers in the north end zone as we have in the south to balance it out.
