I'm sure some thought I was speaking in hyperbole when I said something about racism, but there it is. Racism. "You're black. You can choose from these majors."DoubleA wrote:McAdoo told CNN he had expressed interest in studying criminal justice, but was told on his first day of scheduling that he had to pick from three majors that fit his football schedule -- Exercise and Sport Science, Communications, and African-American Studies, where the paper class scandal existed. McAdoo said his pre-determined schedule included some of the paper classes.
Wow, this story becomes more disgusting, and shameful by the day. NCAA is going to be forced into a corner and, like it or not, have no choice but to bring the hammer down. And this certainly doesn't help the NCAA's defense in court.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
its also a class action suit, basically any of the 3000 students who took the classes can join the lawsuit. This is beyond a nightmare, because its going to court the lawyer for MacAdoo can supena all the Carolina people involved who refused to answer questions, and this will get dragged out in front of the world for months if not years to come. Once the Carolina people are forced to answer in court, the true scope of what they have done will be exposed, they are going to burn, there is almost no way they will be able to talk their way out of this.

Only 1 rep point possible, otherwise I would rep this 100 times. This is a total embarrassment. Even more embarrassing, I have baited a couple of Cheat fans I know and as God is my witness the SOB's still defend it by saying everyone does it.GreatAppSt wrote:Can the UNC system schools secede from or kick out UNC? Listen to the audio of the interview for a real treat. This dude is a caricature of what we all envision when we hear this horrific tale of liars, cheaters, thugs and arrogant enablers. As much as I despise them I never would have thought they would stoop so low. These people really believed they were above reproach. I so love this storyHeffnerIV wrote:Just piling on now. Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
Sounds like the guy may have said "ran a train on it" instead of her. He could have been implying that they all used the paper.
Or he could be scum of the earth and said what is written. Either way, the UNC defenders are getting more and more quiet by the day. Between that and App's recent winning streak, a large swath of pompous windbags have been silenced.

Holy. Sh*t.
I really thought we'd finally heard the extent of it with the report.
"We ran a train on her"
I can't even.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
This Carolina "thing" is by no means over. Neil Cavuto (VP of Fox News Business Group; and VP of Fox Business Channel) did about a ten minute report on the scandal yesterday on his "My World with Neil Cavuto" show. He had two guests debating how this will end. All were in agreement that a big hammer is going to fall on UNC-CHeat before all is said and done.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
If anyone graduating from Appalachian State needed any more proof that too many of us are obsessed with UNC Chapel Hill, the continued comments on "The Carolina Way" surely provides it. I could care less what happens to their athletic programs, though I do care how it may reflect on the UNC system as a whole of which my beloved Alma Mata is a part.
Frankly seeing these posts is like listening to some high school girl talk about how she’s not envious of the homecoming queen, then going on and on and on about how the home coming queen doesn’t look good or smells or whatever the heck…it’s like someone scratching their nails across a chalk board……PLEASE, give it a break!!!!!

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
It's very satisfying that this is happening, but I don't think it's great.
We know how this always happens with our tyrannical flagship. What ever punishment is levied on UNC will inadvertently hurt App as well. We'll be under more scrutiny in their image-based efforts to "clean up the UNC System" (Which the chair of the BOG has already pledged to do). Their efforts to compensate for the financial impact on UNC will, at least partially, come from a collective pool of tax money -- the same pool of money of which Appalachian gets a disproportionately small share already. UNC is not going to suffer. They'll pass on their hardships to their slave schools and continue offering every class under the sun and financing multi-million dollar PR campaigns to clean up their national image in the wake of this scandal while App State, UNCW, etc cut teacher jobs and programs.
I can't wait to see those banners come down in the Dean Dome. I can't wait to see the long-awaited humble pie that Walmart hole fans and UNC alums across the country will be force-fed. I'm going to rub it in the face of those smug bastards. But make not mistake. UNC will win in many ways by the end of the day. And Appalachian State will suffer because of their decades of fraud.

Re: The Carolina Way (Cont'd)
I don't think anybody here is "obsessed" with UNC-Chapel Hill. If anything, I think we are all ready to see the school get what it deserves. They aren't the homecoming queen and we aren't jealous of what they are. Yeah, I'm sure we would love to have a championship winning basketball program like they do, but at the expense of the student part of student-athletes? I think not.mikeyosef wrote:If anyone graduating from Appalachian State needed any more proof that too many of us are obsessed with UNC Chapel Hill, the continued comments on "The Carolina Way" surely provides it. While App basketball is serving a post-season ban for not having high enough GPAs, UNC is completely faking theirs, just so their student-athletes can continue to be athletes. What's really fair about that? Not a thing.
Nobody here is obsessed with UNC... everybody is just waiting on the day for them to fall from grace. On top of that, you're the one that clicked on this thread. If you didn't want to read about our thoughts on UNC, don't click on the thread entitled "The Carolina Way".

Simple solution, stop looking. It works, I tried it with the fire Satt threads and poor Jerry threads too.mikeyosef wrote:If anyone graduating from Appalachian State needed any more proof that too many of us are obsessed with UNC Chapel Hill, the continued comments on "The Carolina Way" surely provides it.
