We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Any of you old-timers ever remember so much change in so little time?
Us old timers have been waiting 30 years for some change

We've had some good things happen for ASU recently. Hope we continue the climb

I don't even want to read the other post, but I"m glad he's gone, from what I've seen he didn't do anything but the ride the "house that Moore built".

Pleasant news is all I can say. Finally found a taker on his 4th job application attempt since 2010.

He walked in to a "warm fuzzy", rode it, took the credit and left. I hope the door don't hit him where the sun doesn't shine.

Of course we are hearing it is "the right guy for the job" . Wow how disgusting Becker is. first he Fired Mary, a Black female, one of the first not only female but black female graduates of the Naval Officer School at West Point. She was recruited away from being an assistant AD at Georgia Tech, Georgia State. It was Mary's idea to start up a football program at Georgia State. She did all the fighting for the program all the leg work to establish the program. She did this while with her husband a former naval officer and aviator were raising two great sons. She even went out and recruited Curry. After she did this all the coach and the boys turned on her.

However, to avoid an EEOC suit the very qualified Mary, they brought in another woman this white Cheryl ( who I really personally don't know anything about).

So, Black Mary, white Cheryl, now they found " the right guy for the job" . They moved Cheryl out to a newly created special assistant to the president job. I would love to see Becker face a big EEO suit.

Athletic directors don't build facilities! Engineers do, Female engineers and. Architects can do just as good if not a better job than males.

I certainly don't want to pay with my daughters tuition for football players and basketball players only conditioning centers. Nor a $300k athletic director salary to a man. The women didn't get that. They are loosing their facility mangers to other Universities because they don't pay enough

I seriously hope that you are kidding. People are so quick to forget that after a 6-5 year in '04 with losses to Chatty and Western that many wanted Jerry gone. Cobb & Peacock gave him another chance. It is not like Jerry had been all roses the previous few years before the Cobb & Peacock train came in.

Another thing, while Cobb definitely had his downs, he helped make this university a better place. It was his time to go, but I will be forever grateful for what he did for ASU.

Linda Robinson was the one that didn't fire Moore after the 04 season. Cobb didn't start until July 1, 2005 (Named May '05) and you don't fire a coach 2 months before the season unless something really bad happened.
The search was on for a new AD during football season, so rightly, Peacock wouldn't have wanted to have a inter. AD to head a search with a new AD on the way. Laney had given Moore a exten. that ran until the end of the 2005 season.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

There is no doubt Cobb did a good job, the only complaint I had was the failure of the men's basketball program, but overall I hate to see him leave, I wish him the best of luck. Now, we are going to see our new Chancellors first big hire of her tenure, with the move up this is a huge deal, she screws this up it will set us back years. The great thing about Cobb/Peacock combo, was they never took a backseat to the P5 schools, and were always trying to improve the program, and never used the excuse that we were a little school that can't compete with the larger schools. Any candidate that feels we should "be the best little program we can be", and take a back seat to the bigger schools, I don't want anywhere near our beloved school.

Amen, very few people realize many of CC's decision were an execution of Cobb/Peacock decision.
Very few AD's are loved by alumni cause they have to cause change to progress.

Time to move on 9 years is a good time to move on and change for APP and CC.

Some of you guys really kill me --- when I first became an active fan for APP State sports it was the fall of '98 and our daughter had been accepted to begin the fall of '99 - I remember clearly all the "Fire Laney" banners and signs - then over the years it was "Fire Moore", "Fire The women's basketball coach, Fire Moore, again, Fire Fancher, Fire Buzz, Fire the soccer coach, Fire Cobb, Fire Moore again, Fire all the football coaches, Fire Capel, etc. --- I'm sure I have missed several --- The point being, is that some will never be happy with anything or anyone - None of us are mistake free and while each of the people listed surely did things that did not please everyone, but if anyone can enlighten me as to any of the above people who didn't work hard for the betterment of ASU, and its student-athletes, please let me know ---

Hope everyone got a chance to watch the Cobb press conference. Regardless of your opinion of CC, he was classy and extremely complimentary of everything App State. He went beyond the expected, and spoke very highly not only of Peacock, but of Everts and the future of ASU. He thanked "APP Nation" and spoke specifically to its passion and spirit.
Very nice exit Chuck. Now on with our search.

The line about the town being 20k if you counted everyone twice was very classy.

I think you were being sarcastic but in any event Boone is at about 17k and App ads about another 17k.

Hey I remember vividly the Lamley years. They almost destroyed the football program. The football players were treated like crap. Jerry had to beg for every nickel and used his own $$ often. Charlie had some problems but overall he and Peacock changed the course of ASU football and got us in a place where quite frankly I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. I agree that almost anybody would have been better than lamely and the drip but I'm glad we are where we are and Charlie had a lot to do with that improvement. I just hope to high heaven we don't promote anyone on staff now 'cause there is NOBODY in Boone qualified to take this program further. We need a visionary who can take us to a higher level. The new Chancellor needs to get this right!!

The biggest hurdle is the fact that GaSt is the UNCC of Georgia. No college experience = no fans.
