Re: Arrest Warrant
You're discrediting our win though. I have yet to see any evidence that the catch was not a TD. Until someone can post a legitimate replay that demonstrates Price did not have his feet in bounds, it was a TD.

Re: Arrest Warrant
How furious would App fans be if the shoe was on the other foot. Still very lucky to win a game where App didn't play that well.
By the way, it WAS a TD

Glad you found that photo. I just went back and watched the Samford video again and thought it look like his foot was down but it was just too grainy to tell for sure.
WE ARE YOSEF!

Re: Arrest Warrant
You should have heard the Sammy analyst on their postgame show. He showed his unprofessional ass, claiming there was NO WAY that catch was inbounds and blasting the officials. I've never really heard anything that bad from a "professional" broadcaster in my life! How he could make that decision from all the way across the field...I mean it happened near me and I was not sure, it was a bang bang play, but this guy lost his mind. So glad to see the picture that proves it was a good call! Thanks for posting it.

Re: Arrest Warrant
He just wanted it to be out of bounds. Those announcers were total homers and couldn't keep their inner fan from coming through their comments. The Georgia Southern announcers on the other hand were excellent.AppinATL wrote:You should have heard the Sammy analyst on their postgame show. Re: Arrest Warrant
And kudos to the official who made the call. I know that's what he's paid to do, but that was an extremely difficult call that decided the outcome of the game. The next time we're ripping a ref for a call we didn't like (and I do my share of it), maybe we should cut 'em some slack.

Re: Arrest Warrant
I though these guys today called a pretty decent game. At least the calls went both ways, I guess that's all you can ask for from the SoCon.

Re: Arrest Warrant
The Apps were fortunate to survive a game in which we really didn't play our best. The D played pretty well with the exception of a couple of blown coverages in the first quarter...and again in the fourth when they seemed to be getting tired. The disturbing thing was that the errors weren't made by the rookies. McCray and Lot both had lapses in the 4th.
We literally handed Samford the scores that put them back in the game with penalties (two pass interference penalties led to the 8 points that put them ahead).
JJ made some costly decisions. Threw on a 4th down conversions when he had open field ahead and could have picked up the 1st down with his legs. That wound up costing us because the D was tired and we needed more points to extend our lead. SS was a bit uninspired with some short yardage calls as well...Miller up the middle twice in a row on third/fourth and 1? OK...everyone has "off" days.
So...Samford was a very good team. They played hard, but the Apps stepped up when it was critical and pulled out the miracle win. These wins are character building, and it might be exactly what we need going into Wofford. We don't need to feel cocky...just focused and confident. We remain on the path!
Next week is going to be a great game. GO APPS!!!

Re: Arrest Warrant
Photo shows a foot down, but does not show whether the ball was under control at that same point in time. It looks to me like the ball is NOT secured at that point -- still coming into the players grasp. And, the ref is in position to see the foot pretty well, but may have had the same difficulty being sure about when the receiver had complete control of the ball. Like everyone else that has commented, that's just my opinion of how it looks to me -- without more evidence we'll never know with certainty.
Bottom line, however, none of that matters now. The call was made. The game is over. Apps won.
I'm sure I'd be upset if I were a Samford fan, but I'd also be saying that the bigger problem was the Samford defense letting ASU get to the point of even having a shot at such a play.
