We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

That is exactly right. The kid is very old history. We have moved on.Rekdiver wrote:That's nice for Devonte. We are over him. We got bigger issues to deal with basketball.

Re: Devonte Graham
On espn.com under the recruiting nation tab within the college basketball section, Devontae Graham had the headlining story about how awesome he is. Good to know that the one time an App bball recruit gets that type of press, he's trying to back out of his LOI.

Re: Devonte Graham
No, we haven't moved on. We're right where we've always been; expecting DGraham to show up for the first day of classes in the fall. He hasn't been released. If we don't release him, he has three options; (1) enroll at and play for ASU; (2) enroll at another NCAA institution and lose a year of eligibility ; or (3) enroll at a JuCo institution for one year.bcoach wrote:That is exactly right. Devonte's like a child home alone playing with matches. If he's not very careful, he's gonna get burned. He'd better be hoping that Capel's contract isn't renewed. In that case, he's well within his rights to request a release. Who knows, depending on who we hire (assuming Capel is not renewed), DGraham may want to stay.

Re: Devonte Graham
I believe the one thing that is assured is the Capels contract will not be renewed and unlike the issues surrounding JMs departure Capel knows this is his last season. The second absolute is that Devonte will not be in Boone. The larger underlying issue is beyond a shadow of a doubt that CCs future at ASU is directly tied to this next coaching search and a team in 3 years that will compete for a Sunbelt crown.

Re: Devonte Graham
I should clarify. Many of us fans have moved on. tired of hearing about the spoiled brat. I do understand and sympathize with the administration that this kid is still hanging around their necks. I can't speak for anyone else on the following but I for one hope he never darkens our campus.asu66 wrote:No, we haven't moved on. You seem to know the next Chancellor and their wishes.....CC's is not trying to undermine his future either. Everyone knows what is at stake....I'd say if CC's football hire works out it buys him some time. CC has been working on the short end of a funding situation for a long time....and until some SB $ start rolling in there will be more financial decisions that will be made.Rekdiver wrote:I believe the one thing that is assured is the Capels contract will not be renewed... Remember, the hiring and paying of the Men's basketball coach directly impacts the paying of the women's basketball coach.

A good discussion may be evolving here, but that needs to be in another or new thread. This is not about the person named in the title of this thread, and we should avoid using this thread for important, and or relevant discussions.

Darcie's locked in with annual raises for five years, going from 130k this year to around 180k by year five. Next MBB's hire will have to be around what Satterfield makes after he's renegotiated, which is stipulated by the FBS move.asutrnr81 wrote:You seem to know the next Chancellor and their wishes.....CC's is not trying to undermine his future either. You may be right. Neither one keeps their word, or for that matter their written contract.CVAPP wrote:Devonte for President!!! He is good people.

There are no NLIs on the MMB. Unlike Graham, you are free to go any time you wish.

It sucks when someone treats you like an adult and makes you keep your word, doesn't it? The real world is so cruel. How could Appalachian be so callous?

Re: Devonte Graham
At this point I'm surprised he isn't threatening to come. Announcing that he's coming to App, but then bad mouthing us then whining about being forced to come in the same press conference is probably the quickest way to get us to release him.
