This is a game the Apps really need to have and I feel like they have a decent shot at beating UTC.
Tonight is the night......right?

Probably so. The main problem harming the Apps is that they go 5-10 minutes of every game where they don't score or score very little. If you constantly have droughts of 5-10 minutes, it does not bode well for the team and its record.BUTCH1991 wrote:I'll take the Mocs by 15.Goapps15 wrote:App is a 2.5 point favorite as of lunch time today over the Mocs. Said that seniors have to lead, that UTC's senior put the team on his back, that we only have one, and he acted like he didn't want to play. He didn't want to talk to Randy and was looking everywhere but at him during the interview. He really needs to go. I know he's frustrated, but that was a piss poor attitude to take with the media.
I understand your point and I'm not here to defend Jason Capel as a coach. However, I don't judge the man by how unsuccessful he is as a coach.Gonzo wrote:Jason Capel is a worthless (and winless) piece of ****.
I think everyone is agreement that JC is not getting it done and we need new leadership. But, we can't have it both ways. Criticize him when he is positive and talks about how hard the team played and we will continue to work at getting better and then blast him because he shows the same frustration as the rest of us. If you think the fan base is frustrated, how frustrated do you think he is?JTApps1 wrote:BUTCH1991 wrote:Wow. Did anyone catch Capel's postgame talk with Randy Jackson? Yet, he wonders why the team won't listen to him? This isn't the first time he's made comments like this during a post interview. If he is that miserable he should just quit.
The wheels have come off the bus, it has gone thru the guardrail and over the cliff. These kids no longer want to play for this guy. Tige commented how the guys were looking to the bench to see if they should foul in the last few minutes. That tells me Capel has brow beat these guys to such an extent they are afraid to do anything without his prompting. That is stuff you learn in Sat Rec League.BUTCH1991 wrote:Wow. Actually, Tige commented that showed the lack of fundamentals. I think that is my greatest criticism of this team is the lack of fundamental basketball skills.Kgfish wrote:The wheels have come off the bus, it has gone thru the guardrail and over the cliff. I'll have to disagree. He says they played hard, but then talks about his senior not wanting to play and Obacha needs to rebound. The part about playing hard was simply coach speak - same old tired clichés. The second part reveals the truth.hapapp wrote:I think everyone is agreement that JC is not getting it done and we need new leadership. But, we can't have it both ways. There is no getting around the fact that this year is the nail on the coffin as far as Capel's tenure. I do feel some compassion for the man in that he has to know with each passing game he is closer to the end of his job at App State.
I'm sure he is extremely frustrated, but that is no excuse to throw individual players under the bus. Good coaches save that for the lockerroom. There is clearly a disconnect between Capel and the players that looks like it wont be getting any better. Maybe he needs to take some responsibility for the teams failures in public.hapapp wrote:I think everyone is agreement that JC is not getting it done and we need new leadership.
